Re: diagnostics code fast one? hate fast ones.

I've never come across the best way to find a faulty wheel bearing except by inadvertent curb hopping - hitting a curb at an angle in snow. It took a few years before the wheel bearing went and only...

Re: No start 2004 L 300

To sum things up, crank sensor works since the engine runs, cams turn from looking under the oil cap, and the engine starts up and runs when the throttle actuator is electrically disconnected then...

Re: 93 sl2 oil light and no oil to top

Oil and filters are not the problem. You have an old beater with 260k miles on it. Nothing lasts forever. The suggestion to remove the oil sending unit and connect an oil pressure gauge should be...

Re: TPS woes

Below is a 5v wiring diagram for '98 SC2. Presuming the 5v reference is the same with possible exception of pinouts, is it possible for intermittent wire or connector issues between pcm and tps?

Re: The Speedometer says 0

^ I didn't think of using a reader capable of displaying speeds but this is certainly a way to troubleshoot with new info (P0502). From what I can see, the same circuitry is used between '05 and '06...

Re: The Speedometer says 0

I'm not certain which way to proceed because of electronics. With experience in electronics in fixed equipment in facilities, there's a certain amount of assurance of wiring not being an issue. This...

Re: 2002 L200 Sedan Diverter Valve Melted, Exhaust Issue?

Having a friend who's also a mechanic helping with repairs is rare. Oil pans rarely leak unless physically damaged. I've replaced oil and filters over the years but never changed xmission oil and...

Re: The Speedometer says 0

A five speed manual? That's rare for a Vue. Presuming '05 Vues are the same for '06, wiring shows the vehicle speed sensor (vss) outputs to the pcm then the pcm signal drives the speedometer. With...

Four or five speed automatic? Which speed sensor? There are two on the xmission.

Re: diagnostics code fast one? hate fast ones.

If you haven't kept up with gradual changes from carburetor/distributor engines to electronic fuel injection and emissions controls from non OBD to OBD I and now OBD II systems, you may not realize...

Re: 2002 L200 Sedan Diverter Valve Melted, Exhaust Issue?

Man or woman, crawling under the car will confirm or deny oil pan leaks. A hydraulic jack or scissor jack with a jack stand for safety will allow checking under the engine.

This info came from the '02 SC2 service manual. I'm quoting from another thread you replied to. I presume its backward compatible with previous abs versions. If we can presume this applies to older...

Info from '02 SC2 service manual. I presume its backward compatible with previous abs versions. If we can presume this applies to older S-series abs brakes then the initial abs light turning on and...

Re: abs lessons to learn

Drawings are great but doesn't answer the question whether or not abs works. Virtually all abs brakes give back a foot massage to the brake pedal from the high speed cycling of brake valves opening...

Re: Do rear brakes engage in park on abs vehicle?

You're describing two problems. Each problem is addressed separately. No interaction occurs between parking brake application and abs.

1-ABS failed to operate hence the abs light. ABS works using...

Re: What battery are you using

That vertical scratch doesn't look too deep except for the top portion. Examine it carefully to see if it's cracked into the battery. If it is, you're out of luck as far as warranty because its...
