Re: 02 SL2--Lower Control Arm/Ball Joint: Seized Bolt

Odd, we did not use ratchet straps when we put the new swaybar on. I believe we had the LCAs on and bolted the swaybar mounts up last. Also, looking at my thread we did it out of the car. Should...

Re: Is engine seized?

Saturns starters often fail. Try turning it over by hand. Take the plugs out and it should be easy.

Re: Considering Purchasing this car... opinions?

I taught my wife really well. But that was before we got married! I don't think it works after.

Re: Brakes go to floor but stop, no missing fluid

I would pump the brakes hard a few times while parked in one spot. A small fluid loss can still give soft brakes but may take a while to make a mess.

Re: Hitch for Bike rack

I'd say he got it right! People spend too much money on cars. That's why I'm here.

Mine comes on with a little over a gallon left. I have seen it many times in my '99 and once in the '98.

Re: Loss of power

If your clutch is bad, you will get slippage - higher RPM without the associated speed or acceleration. Hesitation is not a bad clutch thing.

Awesome you replaced your beemer with a Saturn. I...

Re: Windshield wiper fluid hose

Try a small tie wrap or a piece of wire.

Re: Hitch for Bike rack

I really like my 1.5" receiver. Used it for towing and hauling bikes on a plug-in rack. Tough to beat!

Re: Hitch for Bike rack

Years ago I bought a Hidden Hitch 1.5" receiver and installed it myself. It is 4 holes and 4 bolts. It basically bolts onto the spare tire well IIRC. Add wiring if you want to pull a trailer.

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

Had a rim leak on my right rear alloy wheel on the SC2. Had Tires Plus fix it for $18. Headed over to the hangar to put it back on. One advantage of having multiple Saturns is I used a wheel from...

Re: 2001 Saturn SL1 brake issues

I've had rubber brake lines fail on me in that mode before. Drive it at night. If the brakes are dragging you will see the caliper glowing. Or you could just see if it seems too hot.

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

Re: Flushing Brakes with ABS

It was not different for my '99 with ABS. Suck out and replace the fluid from the reservoir, and bleed the brakes. How can you tell it needs it?
