Re: Disappointed in Walker exhaust parts quality.

Dropped off the car today.

Will be eyeballing the downpipe/flex and cat for the next parts to fail. Didn't feel like replacing every damn piece right now.

Not pretreating at all this time....

Re: Disappointed in Walker exhaust parts quality.

I'll be dropping it off at the shop soon.

First phase will be replacement from cat back with a new round of walker parts. Not going to bother with pretreatment this time. I may consider wrapping...

Re: Disappointed in Walker exhaust parts quality.

Hi, folks!

Will post an update soon, but even with the prep work I did back then, the muffler is due for a replacement again. Will put up a pic or two with comparison shots of last time.

Flex...

Gosh, this sounds kinda like an S-Series!

New Toyota concept car ME.WE

Granted, it's an electric car but this sure sounds familiar :

"The tubular aluminum structure and polypropylene panels keep weight to a minimum--just 1,653 pounds,...

Re: Seat Cover Recommendations?

Try to find a junker with leather seats - I put a couple of black leather seats in mine straight from the JY. Now I keep seat covers on the bottoms and leave the tops bare.

Re: RPM's shooting way up when shifting into neutral or park

Zak,

This sounds similar to the situation I had with my 95 SC2 last week. Get your codes checked - mine was sending out errors related to MAP sensor and EGR valve. Got both replaced, and the...

Re: broken weld on exhaust system

OldNuc -

Are you sure that pipe is stainless? That sure looks like an aftermarket replacement that would have been aluminized at best - would an SS part have that much corrosion on the pipe at...

Re: Disappointed in Walker exhaust parts quality.

UPDATE -

I just received the credit back from RockAuto for the muffler I sent back to them (I did have to return it after all...)

I'm in the final stages of prepping for the install of the...

Re: Recent Light mods

I second the emotion - how do I do this?
And - is there a good way to do something similar for the front map lights?

Best,

Re: Disappointed in Walker exhaust parts quality.

Update :

Had a good conversation with a tech guy @ Walker.

Some details he gave were not unexpected - short trips and winter salt will accelerate the corrosion issue. Duh.

Interesting detail...

Re: Disappointed in Walker exhaust parts quality.

Interesting info, Baron.

I can fairly blame Walker for selling me a stainless steel muffler that's coming apart at the seams after a year and a half. Glad it's got a lifetime warranty but...

Disappointed in Walker exhaust parts quality.

Hi, folks!

Thought I'd share my recent experiences with aftermarket Walker exhaust parts on my 1995 SC2.

Downpipe + flex

Re: Upgrading Sound System

I'd suggest saving up a few bucks and piecing something like this together :

$130 Sony Xplod CDX-GT740UI (front USB for iPod/flash drive)
$65 Alpine SPS-600 (one pair, buy another pair later)...

Dead battery after short period with engine off - what's going on?

After work yesterday, I decided to sit in the driveway listening to the radio. My headlights were on(yeah I should have turned them off), and the car was not running. When I went to exit the car no...

I will second the recommendation on the General Altimax Arctic.
I drove out "on the day of" several of the large storms, and they didn't let me down until I had a forced stop in the middle of a...

Re: Trunk Leak On All 3 Saturn's!!!

I've ended up with a similar situation in my 1995 SC2. I think I've read that either the seam sealer is failing under the rear quarter panels or the trunk is otherwise not sealing properly in some...

Re: Marvel Mystery Oil users...

Re: What Oil Filter to use?

Add another vote for Purolator PureOne 20195.
I still have one more of the regular length PureOne 10241.
Will use that one up soon and from now on it's going to be 20195 unless I find a "better"...

Re: How do you properly aim headlights?

Any hints on adjusting the sealed-beam alignment on a 1st-gen SC2?

I keep thinking my headlights are kinda dim, but but they may simply be aimed too high!

Re: Hood weatherstrip question

Thanks Oldnuc!

The cowl seal is definitely there, though it doesn't seem to cling on all that tightly on the passenger side. Will have to look into the HVAC box drain situation.

Unfortunately...
