Re: Where to go now that Saturns are no longer sold?

I spent months looking at different vehicles. I was going to buy used as after buying the Saturn as my first new car, I came to the fast realization that buying new was a bad idea.

I looked at...

Re: 4 free oil changes from Saturn Authorized Service...did you get them too?

I guess business must be so good, they don't need any more. I have tried 3 times to get an appointment to get the oil changed. Other than a canned response from their system when I made the request,...

Re: 4 free oil changes from Saturn Authorized Service...did you get them too?

I just got a coupon yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. I have been doing my own changes with Mobil 1 since new, but I would be a fool not to take advantage of this. Guess I'll be heading to the...

L Series Wagon crash

I saw the aftermath of this crash on the way home from work tonight. I recognized the car from around here. Looks just like my car, but a wagon.
Apparently the driver is in bad shape and was...

Re: Saturn fuel shut-off, security system?

Get your key replaced. That pretty much took care of that issue for me. You will still have to go through the reset procedure though.

Re: 2002 L200 Interior light problem

I lost those lights when my windshield was replaced. Turned out they cut the wires when installing the new one. The wires are in the passenger side front pillar.

Re: GM Readies New Ads, Deep Discounts to Clear Remaining Saturn Inventory

This is like what happens when a store closes. They call it a going out of business sale, but it really is a going out for business sale. People are fools and will buy something if they think it is a...

Not with the wire. You'll have to use it in FM transmitter mode.

Re: Saturn and Me: General Motors Loses a Customer

I was reading a thread on fixing friends and relatives computers on Slashdot and came upon this comment. It sort of cracked me up.

Re: $250 Million Grant Could Save Saturn, 13000 Jobs

I think what happened, was that GM diluted the Saturn brand by getting rid of Saturn design and manufacturing and resorting to badge engineering. When the end came, there was nothing but a name to...

It appears that Kia is taking a chunk out of their hide. Our local switched over to Kia inside of a week.

Re: Two things - "Misc materials" and sales tax pre- or post-coupon

I got screwed by my stealership by them doing repairs I specifically told them not to. When I complained they basically told be to go bark up a tree.

That was a few months before they closed. I...

Re: L series pull up reverse shifter removal for manual l series

I think they sold about a dozen L's per year with manual transmissions. They are as scarce as hen's teeth. ;)

Re: What Would Penske Do if He Bought Saturn?

That's interesting. My LS had tons of initial quality problems. Things not put together correctly, not tight, poor quality parts. I don't know how much of that was due to design, or due to poor...

Absolutely! Charlie's site will be more important than ever with the demise of Saturn. Unfortunately, he won't be getting any more advertising dollars from them to keep things running. Here's hoping...

Re: Last Saturn Ion Ever Built For Sale by Owner in the Classifieds

It is really the last "real" Saturn. Built at Spring Hill, plastic body, and small. Though some might argue that the last S series was the last "real" Saturn.

I consider my L to some sort of weird...

Re: GM introduces money-back guarantee

Actually, it's a 60 day/4000 mile free rental. And it's really not free as you are on the hook for "fees". Even with "fees" though, it might be a good way to "rent" a car for a couple of months. Sort...

Re: Help Test the New Site Polling Feature: Have You Gone on a Road Trip this Summer

2000 LS from Iowa to the north shore of Lake Superior and Duluth, Minn.
First tank got 36 MPG, 2nd 34 MPG, and last was only 31 MPG. Still not too bad for a 9 year old car.

Re: GM Says its Learned from Mistakes Made with Saturn Advertising

The article I read said that if you drove 300 miles highway, starting out with a fully charged battery, it would be the equivalent of 100 mpg.

Here is a similar article....

Re: GM Says its Learned from Mistakes Made with Saturn Advertising

I am betting GM is salivating at the chance to advertise the VOLT as getting 230 MPG. Even though it really only gets 100 MPG. ;)
