Re: Saturn Would Design Vehicles, Outsource Manufacturing Under Black Oak Partners Pl

+1.

Look at much of GM's issues, at the heart of it is the union.

Re: Saturn Would Design Vehicles, Outsource Manufacturing Under Black Oak Partners Pl

+1

You look at cities that once were industrious in this country and what they've become once the manufacturers have left. Take where I grew up, Utica, NY. There used to be textile mills, GE had...

Re: Saturn Would Design Vehicles, Outsource Manufacturing Under Black Oak Partners Pl

So basically Saturn would exist in name and design only. Whoever actually builds them could be anybody's guess.

Maybe it would be better for Saturn to die with dignity.

Re: BOSCH Iridium spark plugs

Copper has a lower electrical resistance and higher conductivity than both Pt and Ir, but its melting point is much lower. Cu will melt at 1984F, where Pt melts at 3215F, and Ir melts at more than...

Re: Where to buy good rotors

What you may or may not know is the store branded parts (Napa, Autozone, Advance Auto, et al) are actually made by the major manufacturers. It depends on the store and sometimes on the actual model....

Re: BOSCH Iridium spark plugs

actually I think you've got it backwards. I believe copper is the lower resistance plug, that is why older ignition systems don't seem to like platinums.

then I guess my brother with his 07 had back luck as well, and countless other Saturn owners.

Re: BOSCH Iridium spark plugs

Yawn. Iridium, like platinum, is a low wearing metal and is used for longevity. Platinum and iridium plugs will stay very close to factory gap in 100,000 miles of use where copper plugs will not. ...

Re: Better Used Car? Ion vs L-series?...

I realize you have like 3 threads about this same thing, so hopefully you are checking them all for responses so I don't have to post this in all three hoping you'll find it. Food for thought about...

Re: Highway Vibration : Alignment?

i suggest taking them on a drive to show them exactly what you are feeling, and then again after to make sure its not a balancing or wheel issue. A lot of times when doing tires they don't test...

Re: Better Used Car? Ion vs L - series?...

also I forgot to mention the 2007 model year for the Ion, the motor and control system got some upgrades. A new digital crank sensor, the newer coil on plug ignition system and there were a bunch of...

Re: Better Used Car? Ion vs L - series?...

the earlier Ions had some automatics with issues. I don't remember the particular tranny, but I want to say it was an Aisen 5 speed auto. The F23 stick seems pretty reliable and is what I have, and...

Re: Best Used to Buy? L-series vs Ion?...

I've hauled lumber in my Ion sedan. Pine tongue and groove, 8ft, 10ft and some 12 ft pieces. 12ft I had to tie the trunk down, but loaded right I could get 10 footers in.

Re: Where to buy good rotors

GM rotors are terrible. had to replace mine around 20K, my wife's on her 07 Ion at 14K! Gawd awful, anything is better.

Seriously though, check out rockauto. Good prices and very good...

Re: Better Used Car? Ion vs L - series?...

Hands down the Ion. The L was terrible. Find an Ion with a 5 speed, you'll enjoy it. I've got an 06, my wife had an 07 til she got hit, and my brother has an 07. Marc and I both have over 50K...

Re: GM may sell saturn!

I figured that, I just wanted to bring it up to differentiate the different Nova's that were out there.

Right now, Saturn vehicles are so closely modeled after Opel, why not just make them part of...

Re: GM may sell saturn!

Which Nova? the original ones from back in the 70's or that POS econobox they labeled as a Nova in the late 80's or early 90's?

Re: GM may sell saturn!

Be careful what you wish for. None of us want to see Saturn die off, but none of us want Saturn to become what Saab became when GM bought it. Saab would have been better off dying out rather than...
