Re: 3rd muffler strap
I've only had to replace the strap once (living in New England) but the first 90k miles of the cars life it was in Florida.
So 2-3 times doesn't seem like a bad estimate... lol

Re: Snow tires!
I've found a great variety of all season performance in the snow, many terrible, some not so bad at all. That being said even cheap snow's will likely be significantly better than the best all...

I have a friend with a 92 Saturn SL (single cam) that she recently bought. I'm not familiar with the earlier gen interior's so I thought I would ask you guys.

Re: Coil Springs
I'd highly recommend the H&R Sport Springs if you are looking for the best performance. They only have about 1.4" drop but they are the best performance option for a drop spring

Re: 215/60-15?
Holy crap you guys are thinking way too much into this.
News flash: I can tell you what a 205/55 will look like mounted on a stock wheel- It will look very much like a 195/60.
You're not going...

Re: tail light and headlight tinting
I know that one can of VHT Nightshades would probably be enough to do all that... but I'm not sure about ebay JDM spray. That being said I wouldn't go that dark with them, and please don't tint your...

Re: 17" rim question
Yeah you might need a set of wheel spacers for that. 2nd gens have quite a bit of room for tire compared to first gen. From what I understand 40 is a good offset for a 7" wide wheel so you might rub...

Re: 99 SL2 Exhaust Size Change
97 camaros had the ~200 hp 3800 series II. They became available in 95.5 and became standard equipment in 96.
And wow this thread got derailed. I think Cormor just has a lot of angst because until...

This is the modification section of the forum. You can't walk in here and tell people not to modify. I respect what you're trying to say but you should've just left it at "you won't get huge gains....

Re: Look at this POS SC I saw today...
I'd reach under there with a socket and a catch pan and drain a few qts of oil out of it the next time you saw it parked... it's a saturn, no one would ever suspect foul play...

Re: What can I tow with my 97 SC1?
I was freaked out yesterday when I saw what appeared to be a chrysler k-car towing a boat that was about 35 ft long. The really freaky part was it was doing it just fine, and and it didn't seem to...

Re: proper fit?
It's a bit on the high side for offset I think (higher offset number means better chance of rubbing with STRUT)
In any case if it did rub I think you could just buy some cheap 3 or 5mm spacers and...

If this is your only car I'd say don't do it. If you really want to do it get a backup car!
Also its all in the tuning!!
