Re: Ion 3 to Redline Disc Brakes

I assume you mean that the emergency brake cables aren't long enough?

And by bigger LSJ brakes, do you mean the GMPP stuff or Brembo?

Long time, no see everyone. It's nice to be back!

So I am finally going to do my Redline upgrades (hubs, wheels, brakes and a few additional suspension upgrades). I've done the research and I...

Re: Rear Brake Swap with SC2

that is a good point. I think I will try that, however yes my concern would be over the fitment of those calipers. see what you can find out on your end as well.

Re: Rear Brake Swap with SC2

With the exception of the hubs & rotors, the kits were probably just Red Line parts. Hence the need for 17-inch wheels.[/QUOTE]

Let me pose this question then: does anyone know how the SSBC kit...

Re: Rear Brake Swap with SC2

QUOTE=ssicarman;2089227]Can't be done plug and play.

The ION does not have the mount points for the rear caliper bracket that the S-series does.
You would be looking at a lot of custom...

I really wish we could get in contact with Saturn69 and see...

I know. I wouldn't even be considering this if I hadn't seen it suggested by another master member.

Re: Rear Brake Swap with SC2

From what I understand, the rotors will fit. The rotors for the SC, just like the ion have a 4 x100 bolt pattern.

My main concern is how the caliper housing bracket will a fix to the axle.

Rear Brake Swap with SC2

Hello all.

I have been doing some research into putting rear disc brakes on my 07 Ion 3. My goal is to do it without switching to a 5 lug hub or getting 17 inch wheels.

It was suggested in an...

Re: Rough Idle and Hesitation - Please Help

The MAF or the MAP sensor? I did clean the MAF. How can I tell if either one is bad?

I will check the plugs and replace if necessary.

Also, I'm guessing that I should clean the TB as per...

Re: Rough Idle and Hesitation - Please Help

To clarify also, my Ion does NOT have a coil pack, it has individual coils for each plug. From what I have read, earlier Ions with an idle or power problem needed to have their coil packs rebuilt...

Re: question about headlight mod

From what I have heard, a heat gun would be okay. Other guys who have done this mod have actually "baked" (put their whole assembly in the oven) to loosen the glue before prying it apart.
