Re: Spam

I have no knowledge of what kinds of tools exist for a web-host to control or block spam ads. I certainly agree that if this web-host's site is out of date relative to such features then they need to...

Re: LW300 center mount stop light problem?

How recently had you checked the center mount brake light to see if its bulbs were illuminating?

Not necessarily. Much of it depends upon our maintenance practices. I know that I must have someone...

Re: High engine fan speed in cold weather...a brief story...

Thank you, 02 LW300, for making the point about when a code will be set. I do have a code reader, happily, but I will certainly be irritated and disappointed if the thermostat has failed since the...

High engine fan speed in cold weather...a brief story...

Yesterday, I drove a short distance to pick up my son from his friend's house in the early evening, about 5:15 pm, fully dark and rather cold - low 50's (F) and dropping. Driving away from the house...

Re: Rear wheel hub/bearing question

I see no reason as to why it could not. The difference between an ABS hub assembly and a non-ABS hub assembly is merely the electrical component. They are otherwise identical.

Re: Hi! New member from London.

Welcome to SaturnFans, Kondrad!

This brand of vehicles eventually made use of the Vauxhall/Opel product line under some different model names so it makes sense for an Englishman to join, e.g....

Re: Tire Pressure correct PSI

According to the Uniroyal website the maximum PSI for the tire described is 44 PSI. This being the case, there should be no trouble in following the factory recommended tire pressure for normal use....

Re: Idle surge when shift, until normal running temp

Hmm...that's cute.

The L-Series cars with the 2.2L engine are not "drive-by-wire." There is an accelerator pedal/throttle cable. L-Series cars with the V6 have the drive-by-wire throttle control.

Re: Several question in this thread. Who knows the answers?

I think that you know this, ddemier7, but if you're actually inspecting the rear main seal then the transmission must be separated from the engine. If you've gone that far then you might as well...

Re: Radiator difference

Exactly right. Look carefully at any picture descriptions for the new radiator and be sure that it does NOT have the vent tube. Most pictures will show that tube pointing to the left and at the top...

Re: Several question in this thread. Who knows the answers?

Replacing the gaskets you've mentioned is a good thing. If you're not using the donor engine's intake and exhaust manifolds then you should replace the manifold gaskets at a minimum. Unless you're...

Re: 2002 LW200 Power Steering Quit

I'm a fan using the recommended fluid for the power steering system. Power steering fluid is specified for that unit because the hydraulic pressure is much greater there than in the transmission....

Re: MAP Sensor Code

I think you shouldn't bother checking as to why the Check Engine/MIL is on all the time as it appears to be unnecessary in your situation. BTW, what kind of car/SUV/truck are you concerned with...

Re: Car will crank but not start

The suggestion of tapping on a fuel pump with a hammer to jar something loose so as to allow the fuel pump to engage is of no use on an L-Series car. The fuel pump is inside of the fuel tank.

In...
