Re: Is the seal for THIS in the standard AC gasket kit?

There was a similar thing like that on my Buick V5 compressor. This is what it looked like.

Re: Unusual wheel bearing noise -- hard to diagnose

Those are sealed bearings. No need to add grease.

Re: Questions about breaks

If it's not good after new parts and bleeding, there could be a leak somewhere. Clean off all the brake fluid mess and go hard on the brakes. Then look for leaks.

Re: Saturn and Air Pollution

I'm in the camp of those who recognize that keeping an old car going is avoiding a lot of the pollution that comes from making new cars. That's not why I do it. Electric vehicles seem awesome where...

Re: A/C Schrader valve leak

So this AM the air was cool, but not as cold as yesterday. I think I have a high and low side port replacement in my future. Should I get those same stupid ball valves or get aftermarket schraeder...

Re: Running A/C without A/C diode in fuse block.

I would not. Besides computer stuff you will fry your relay and expose the clutch circuit to big voltage spikes.

Re: A/C Schrader valve leak

Here is a video of the style of high side port that I have.

If I ever have to service one of these systems again, I'm converting the valves.

Re: "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light on my 2002 SC2

I did not torque my coil bolts. Evil, I know, but I've been turning wrenches a long time and have some feel. I did not use contact cleaner or dielectric grease. I did clean off all the grime with...

Re: A/C Schrader valve leak

I discovered the Buick valve is a ball, not a schraeder valve. What does the Saturn have?

Re: 1999 SL1 rear brake line split - has the end come for the trusty Saturn?

A cut and paste from one of the links:

Every car I've ever owned with dual circuit brakes has the pedal go to the floor when you blow one system. True all the way back to the 60's models. I think...

Re: 1999 SL1 rear brake line split - has the end come for the trusty Saturn?

Steel lines suck. Search for nicopp brake lines on the forum and you will find lots of good info. I've redone both my S Series, and one Buick.

Re: "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light on my 2002 SC2

1 plastic rivet, 1 connector, 4 wires to unplug, 4 bolts to remove. Just did this last Sunday. Then you reverse the steps with the new coils.

Re: 98 SC2 project. Drive for now, maybe rebuild later.

The Buick is still leaking from the high side schraeder valve. I've parked it in the hangar so it will be cool for tonight. The SC2 was awesome on my 14 mile commute. Hardly a definitive test but...

Re: Does anyone know where this wire's supposed to go?

One clip attaches to the subframe, the rear cross member.

I think the other one attaches to the passenger side unibody.

Re: Intermittent Starting Issue

I agree with you. My '98 had a sick starter that would get worse as it warmed up. This could be your issue. I have had many bad aftermarket starters and some lasted less than a year. Thank God...

I don't think that is an EGR problem. Sounds like a weak crank due to lack of juice to me. I'd check the battery connections before I did anything. This includes...
