Re: Goodbye Saturn: Thanks for the Ride (1985-2010)

I first got turned onto Saturn by mistake in 2003 - at the age of 22, when I bought my first car. It was a 1997 Saturn SL2, Dark Green, but with power everything.

I bought it, knowing nothing...

Replacing Ion2QC Seats with Redline Seats

Hello All,

I have an 05 Ion 2 QC, Black with a Black/Tan Interior. I found a salvage shop online that was selling a complete set (Front and Back) of Black Leather/Blue Cloth Recaro Seats from an...

Re: Running on ACCessory at Drive-in

Rather than try either, I'll probably end up spending $$ to get a DieHard. Never had ANY issues with that.

Re: Running on ACCessory at Drive-in

Next time I take it in to the dealer, I'll have them test my alternator. I thought something was up with my battery. I guess I'll have to invest in a new one :ugh:.

I've been tossing around...

Re: Unusual Problem When Using A/C

Compressor - oops, wrong word - BIG difference:hmm:.

I guess I'll just have to live with it for now. Thx for the info.

Running on ACCessory at Drive-in

There is an actual (and still operating) Drive-In Movie Theater by our house that my wife and I love going to.

What they tell us at the theater, is to put the car on the Accessory position and...

Re: Unusual Problem When Using A/C

What I meant by "killing the condenser" is that every time the RPMs dip down low like that, the condenser shuts off for about 30 seconds before turning back on.

Not so much "DIE Condenser...

Re: Unusual Problem When Using A/C

I ran through the "Throttle Learn" described by mkuz13 in http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117977, and it seemed to help. I ran the AC and drove around for a bit and the RPMs didn't...

Re: Unusual Problem When Using A/C

That's good to know about the fuses.

About the RPM drop, I think maybe its a bug in the design that they overlooked. Perhaps the alternator isn't strong enough to power the car with the AC on? ...

Re: Unusual Problem When Using A/C

I tried the auto-cal thing and it didn't make any noticible differences. I'm not sure if it actually worked or not. How do I know?

I looked at my under-hood fuse box and noticed 2 particular...

Re: Unusual Problem When Using A/C

fdryer, I'll give the auto-calibration a shot. I've been thinking that it's anything from an underpowered alternator to a condenser issue, but I'm no mechanic, so don't know for sure. I'll try the...

Unusual Problem When Using A/C

I have a rather unusual issue. My 2005 Ion QC-2 is a manual. Every time I run my A/C, and take the car out of gear, my RPMs go down to about 500 and then back up to around 1000.

Has anyone run...

Ok, I think this is the point where I take the marker to my chin and write "Insert Foot Here":( . You brought up a good point in my flawed logic - if you can even call it that. You're right,...

Re: Regarding the "death" of Saturn

So much for faith in American Engineering. I think that people have lost faith in American Engineering as well as America itself. If people want to go buy a foreign car, then that is their choice...

Re: Problem With Installing A New Deck In My New 2007 Ion Quad Coupe ... PLEASE HELP ME!

I had the same problem with my '05 Ion QC2. If you don't have the advanced audio, this should be rather easy. Either you or someone else will need to splice the wires behind the factory wire...

Information Re: Regarding the "death" of Saturn

Ok, granted I am new to the forums here, but here is my two cents. I have had the best of both worlds of Saturn. My first car was a 1997 SL2. It was a great car. I got mad at it, cried in it,...
