Re: Power steering line removal

Flare wrenches are quite possibly the best purchase I didn't plan on making.... brake lines, power steering lines... stubborn bolts that you have to use a wrench on...

Re: Saab 9-5 seat swap

That could work, might make removing the center console more of a pain, but who does that very often.

Idk that there's room for 6" more height in a first gen lol

Re: Saab 9-5 seat swap

How do they physically measure up to the stock seats? Same width? height?

Just curious why you chose that particular seat.

Re: To EVO or not to EVO?

Pretty sure it screws / clips into where the pressure hose goes.... it's been awhile.

Re: 96 saturn SL2 twin cam

OBDI vs ODB2 isn't an issue as the sensors haven't changed (there are exceptions).

the issue you'll run into going backwards is that the earlier EGR won't bolt to the later head. Pretty much makes...

Re: To EVO or not to EVO?

EVO is just a solenoid that attaches to the high pressure side of the pump. I accidentally bought a non evo pump once (traded the evo pump in for a core ) and installed it just fine.

Re: Saturn FWD dirt track race car

So you got a PCM without ABS/traction control.

Re: Saturn FWD dirt track race car

I think I figured it out! Reading the other thread you posted in, the limiter comes on when you're entering a dirt corner...

I think you're activating traction control

Re: Saturn FWD dirt track race car

Nope. I did a 5 speed swap on a car, left all the auto stuff unplugged but initially ran it on the auto PCM. Worked exactly the way it should.

Re: Saturn FWD dirt track race car

There's a standing rev limiter (4k?) and the usual rev limiter (whatever red line is)

Is there some reason the PCM would think the car isn't moving, and it's enabling that limiter?

Re: with ac on ... engine fan does not come on

Are you trying to troubleshoot a fan issue, or an AC issue here?

Re: auto ECU to remove limiters?

I bought a head from a guy who did circle track locally, he claimed to hit 7k pretty regularly... also changed the engine out pretty regularly as a result.

You don't want to rev a saturn motor...

Re: Performance Top Mount

Pretty sure he's sold a bunch of window stickers and stuff for sixthsphere. No personal experience, but I've never heard anything bad about him.

Re: need to replace front coil springs/replace struts too?

You get what you pay for... the quick struts are hit or miss and have a squeaking problem (no personal experience, read through some threads)

I'd probably not buy anything labelled "economy" for...

Re: need to replace front coil springs/replace struts too?

Struts, springs, and strut and spring assemblies are on clearance at rockauto, it's 10000 times easier to DIY change the whole assembly than bother with spring compressing.

Re: Benefits of EGR delete?

Cleaner intake manifold?

You'll see a MPG loss, and zero impact on performance, as EGR only operates at cruise speeds. The idea is to recycle inert gases into the motor to effectively reduce fuel...

Re: Manual transmission removal

You'll have clearance issues. It's already a real tight fit without anything hanging off of it.

Drill the bolt out, or cut/grind the head of it off. Try not to damage the coil.

Re: engine from '92-'93 compatible with '95 car?

EGR won't work with a '95 PCM.

Swap the PCM out of the car you got the motor from and it'll drop right in.

Re: Replaced clock spring, now car won't start.

Really need an answer to the 2nd post, but if the only thing that changed was the clock spring replacement, check the ignition switch connector that you have to unplug during that procedure.

Re: When airbags deploy clockspring needs be changed?

A tech II can read airbag codes IIRC and tell you which part needs replaced.

The SDM and clock spring are both designed to be single use items as far as air bags are concerned. It's likely that...
