That engine fuse box can get damp sometimes. The cover sometimes comes loose or maybe there is another place for water to enter.

I wonder if the relay was fine but the contacts were a bit...

I had the p0496 code. EVAP system no flow during purge. I tried cleaning the valve but that did not work for me. 55562350 is about $70. Easy...

The failed flexpipe was replaced 30 months ago at the local custom exhaust guru.

New mechanic welded in a new flex pipe for about $150; Brazilian mechanic who is very good.

Noisy exhaust near engine. Loudest at startup for 15 seconds. During the last few days it is getting louder during regular driving.

Might be the flexpipe again, but I had that replaced just a few...

Local Chevy dealer had the clip in stock for $0.98. Total job took 15 minutes following this thread and video. I disconnected battery for a long time beforehand to reduce probability of airbag mishap...

FYI the alternator pulley for the automatic cars might be different than that for the manual cars.

Covered under GM extended warranty service #SB-10276!!!

Unfortunately the coverage expired this month so screwed again by GM for a defective system. They will not bend.

Going Japanese next...

Parts are getting scarce as Saturn does not exist. So GM dealers and parts shops are not stocking up on parts. I still find most stuff in stores or junkyards here.

You can pick up most anything...
