Re: Another battery recall?

My low mileage is largely due to the short commute - in the winter, it barely had time to warm up. Or, it takes 20 minutes of stop and go, with each "go" having the engine restart to move the car a...

Re: Another battery recall?

That's about what you'll get from the GL if you're doing mostly town driving. You can push it a bit higher with a light foot on the gas, but it's not likely to get lots better.

For mine, I got...

Re: Goodbye Saturn: Thanks for the Ride (1985-2010)

Charlie,
Thanks for everything you're doing for the community. While Saturn will be missed, the forums will continue to support the faithful.

Personally, I already miss Saturn. No Christmas card...

Re: Which Vue's had VTi Transmission?

2ndsout is right - the 2002-2004 Automatic transmission VUEs with the 4-cylinder engine (2.2L) were VTIs.

Re: Would you recommend buying a used GL?

The other thing about the Green Line is that it's not all that different from a regular 4-cylinder VUE. It's just a bigger motor/generator replacing the alternator, an extra battery pack, and that's...

Re: 2003 Vue limp mode and a P0378 code.

Do you think so? The diagnosis says "Trans is slipping from 1st to 2nd gear." and there's no first or second gear on a CVT.

Re: Wonky radio display

Thanks, f2g - if it's going to take a (Chevy) dealer trip to replace with an eBay unit it's worth a bit of time to try to fix it. I'll try that prior to buying a new one.

Wonky radio display

2007 Vue Green Line, single CD/XM radio.

I'm having a problem with the receiver's display - it sometimes powers up completely dark, sometimes only part of the pixels display. It's apparently a...

Re: Service & warranty work transfered to a Chevy dealership

Yeah, I know what you mean. :D
We've been having my wife's Astra and my Green Line serviced at the local Chevy dealer for several months now and it's been going very well. They got me the last...

Re: Another battery recall?

I've never gotten any official notice of the recall, either. I can't believe that GM is efficient enough to avoid sending out recall notices to people who've had it done already.

I'd suggest...

Re: Saturn Authorized Service Providers--Your Experience?

Bill,
We've had both of our Saturns in to our local Chevy Dealer, who is a SASP. It's early to say too much as we've only had a couple of visits, but so far it's been great - other than the fact...

Re: Used '08 Astra XR - Good Buy?

Welcome back to the forums!

It's going to be interesting hearing the responses to your question. My wife loves her Astra. We've had no service issues and the local Chevy dealer is doing a good job...

Re: Traction Control Light?

Um, never mind.
Far2Grumpy, when I saw your response I went back to basics and looked again at the owner's manual - the light goes on when you push the button that disables TC.

Such as when your...

Traction Control Light?

A few times lately while I've been driving along the "TC" light (Traction Control) disabled ("TC with a slash over it) will come on out of the blue. It'll stay on until shutdown then doesn't...

Re: 2007 GL Vue

I've got to agree - with that many immediately apparent problems, who knows what else might be wrong that's less obvious.

Re: 2007 GL Vue

It seems to be working well, with expected hybrid activity. Yesterday on a trip from Baltimore south on 95 into Virginia it topped 34 MPG (on the scanguage readout), which is pretty close to the best...

Re: Another battery recall?

I think it's more likely that your Hundai dealer told you that to low-ball you on the trade in. Now if you had a VTi VUE that would be the appropriate thing to tell someone.

Of course, it could...

Yup, got it back yesterday - just a couple of fairly short trips so far but it's working fine again. :D

The check engine light was on; the service advisor told me that the problem was that the...

Re: Another battery recall?

Interesting. My battery failed last week (check engine light, no needle movement, no auto stop, etc.)

I drove it for five hours from NYC to DC in this condition. Clearly the situation I had...

Re: Another battery recall?

When the battery fails, the VUE does not shut down, it simply reverts to "normal" operation. It does slow down quite differently without the regenerative braking in operation, but there's nothing...

Re: Another battery recall?

Yup, this is the second replacement. It's a very strange coincidence, but luckily the battery is in so not a big deal.

I'll post an update once I have the GL back.

Re: 2007 GL Vue

I also have been very happy with my Green Line. These models are late enough in the VUE model that many of the early teething pains are gone; it's going to be just like your other VUE with better...

Re: Another battery recall?

Well, this is good timing. Got the call last week from the Chevy dealer that the battery was in. I was out of the country, got back yesterday and drove from NYC to DC. The hybrid system wasn't...

Re: Another battery recall?

Thanks. Now I know it's for real. It'll probably take a while to get the new battery pack in, of course.
