Re: Bonehead Saturn Craigslist find of the day

I would not mind finding that left alone somewhere. All the parts I need. :D

Re: eBay find - 1991 SL1 # 8

And I thought getting my 94 SC2 with 78,000 miles was good mileage.

That is SWEET.

Re: Sc

Thanks for the info. I thought I was seeing things. :)

What I meant by the top dash was the top panel of the dashboard where the defrost vents are.

The one from Florida is very brittle and...

Happy Sc

Forgive the stupid question as up till now I have been a SL kinda guy....

But, I bought a 94 SC2 in Florida with the concealed headlamps. Everything I have seen shows 91-96 to have the concealed...

Re: Strange whine started in transmission :(

Did you by chance find out what was making that noise? I was about to buy a 99 SW2 for $500 but when I started it up, it did that exact thing. Whined in park and neutral but not in gear.

Sounded...

Reverse Fade

What would cause reverse in a 2001 SL2's tranny to just 'go away' when the engine is at temperature but work fine when cold?

I have done a search and it does not appear to be a reverse slam issue....

Re: My Midnight Blue Aura XR Pictures

I like the way that sunroof opens. It looks great.

I fully expect that to be a leaking mechanical nightmare.

I am not wishing problems on you... but I can FEEEL it.

Re: Saw the Auras today.

I was actually not planning on purchasing another saturn for various reasons.

I have NEVER had any real problems with my 2000 SL1 and it just hit 95,000 miles and I do not have any gripes about it...

Re: 1994 Headlights on a 1997?

They are not even CLOSE to the same design.

You MAY have some luck swapping 96-99s with 00-02s but there is no way you are going to fit 91-95s in there.

Re: we sold one w air intake..

I guess I am the only one on the site that is not goo-gooing whatsoever over the Sky.

It does not exactly reach out and grab me by the throat.

I don't care how high they price them or what...

Re: estimated time for replacing intake manifold gasket?

I watched somebody that knew what they were doing change my intake manifold gasket on my 2000 in 45 minutes.

He was a former Saturn tech working at a Nissan dealership.

I said..."You have done...

Re: Trunk question

I would not mind having a factorys spoiler and an applique pannel from an SL-2 for my SL-1. :)

However, if you know how to drive, you KNOW where your rear end of the car is whether you can see it...

Re: Saturn SL2 Accident Pics

In Pennsylvania, the car will not pass inspection with blown airbags.

I believe there is also a law that states the car cannot be registered again in the state unless new airbags are installed by...

Re: SES Light wierdness

I took a couple of pics of the gasket.

It looks like it moved a good quarter of an inch consiring the black marks on the back side of it.

It amazes me that it could move like that.

I guess...

I am assuming it was going bad for a...

Fortunately, my wife is afraid of that big noisy thing under the hood so hopefully, I don't ever have that problem.

Would the engine speed up or slow down?

I may have spoke too soon with my previous post.

When I sprayed down the back of #1, the engine damn near died. It was as though I was spraying the...

Re: SES Light wierdness

Believe it or not, it was the stinking aftermarket PCV valve that I put in the car.

With the old valve in, I was idling between 1200-1400 and the SES light was a blazing.

I put in a new PCV...

Re: Help! high Idle, Still after work already done!

I did and there was no change in idle.

I am suspecting that the PCV Valve grommet is leaking as I just found oil dripping down from it. I didn't notice that before. It is not coming out of the...

Re: Help! high Idle, Still after work already done!

My 2000 SL1 has gotten to the point now where the idle won't come down and the SES light stays on all the time.

I have checked everything else. New PCV, no cracked vacuum lines that I am aware...

Re: CNG OIL light came on...

Yes, my Saturn's light comes on between 6500 and 7200 like clockwork.

Depends on how much highway driving and stop-go I have done.

I usually have it changed when the light comes on but I do...

Actually, so am I.

I have been less than thrilled with the dealer that I bought my car from. They just don't seem to have the 'personal' touch like they did when I bought my 94 Saturn.

It is...
