I'm concerned about battery health...

Just got it to charge to 12.6V
Seems like that should make me feel better

Re: battery vs. alternator

I tried reading AC voltage (previous thread) and was not able to. If there is a bad diode, do you definitely hear issues with the radio? Or is that just a possible indicator?

I will clean the...

Re: Weak Spark

I highly recommend having a scanner on hand. I use an OBD dongle plus a phone app. I got the BAFX brand, it's about $22 and seems more reliable than the $10 cheapies. You can also get codes read for...

Re: 96 Saturn SL2 crossember rust.

My breaker bar was from autozone, I think, but I did get a HF torque wrench that came out of the box with the tang broken. I try to always check parts before I leave the store (I do seem to get a lot...

Re: Lower left sub frame rust

aren't there emissions inspections in IL?
We have safety + emissions inspections here, and I've been failed for very minor things. For example, if your wipers WORK fine but the rubber looks worn,...

Re: new to the saturn game

I guess it depends on what you're used to; I find the seats perfectly comfortable. As such, I do wonder if yours is just in need of some better foam

Re: Diff pin questions

amsoil torque drive had been the recommendation, don't know if that has changed. I've been using it.
I felt so much better after taking a peek at the diff pin.

Re: SL2 standard transmission problems

I don't think new cables are what you need, just yet. However, if you do end up going that route, be aware that aftermarket cables are regarded to be vastly inferior. Find a set at the bone yard.
I...

As soon as I got that done, of course, I...
