Re: Saturn 1.9 Thermostat mod

Stick a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator to block the flow in cold temps, experiment with an opening size to find what works best for keeping the engine hot at speed (same idea as the nose...

Re: 2000 sl2 shifting question

Shift pattern:
1-3-5
--N--
2-4-R

Takes effort to move out of the neutral range. Not sure how this isn't normal as every manual I've driven requires about the same effort to move out of that...

Re: 00-02 Saturn SC1 vs Toyota Celica

Depends on what brand you get. Most are Chinese, some are Japanese, a couple are German, dunno about American other than wheel bearings (Think SKF & National are USA, may be wrong) and dunno about...

Re: Monroes installed...big dissapointment!

Try torquing the strut->mount nut some more.
My other guess is the boot isn't properly seated on the strut and is sliding around improperly.

Re: 96 SL1 Afterblow stays on with key out killing battery.

So, the aftermarket module that has very little info (http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143499) about it has probably failed, or the switch has failed. If you only have on/off and no...

Re: 00-02 Saturn SC1 vs Toyota Celica

S-Series & racing anything (new) parts are long gone, short of begging random companies with a product run of 10-20 in a group buy. Replacement parts are still plentiful though finding stuff in-stock...

Re: Two things: driver seat and accounting for tire increase

The passenger seat is wider than the driver. Don't think it's in the seat rails so swapping the full seat may work if the passenger seat isn't too wide for the drive side. Swapping parts side to side...

Re: 1999 saturn sl2 mod help

If you do stop & go driving that's what kills mileage in these, especially with an automatic you can't put into a higher gear quickly. Short (under 10mi) trips also kill mileage.

All the S-Series...

Re: Front sway bar broke off at LCA!

LCA's have to either be removed from the cradle or from the knuckle to get the sway bar in (potentially both).

It adapts the '91-'94 heads to work with electric EGR valves found on '95-'02 heads.

Re: Heavy duty struts needed

H&R, Eibach and Progress all lower the car between 1.3" and 2"; Sprints lower it between 2" and 2.5".

Re: Heavy duty struts needed

There's pretty much only 1 dampening/rebound "setting" to get for rear struts, and GR-2's/Excel-G's supposedly are only have a slight increase in stiffness over stock up front (the rest I believe are...

Re: 1999 SL1 Sedan - chugging when started

Fixed :)

Put a fuel pressure gauge on it to verify 48psi (+/-3psi), sadly AZ and AAP won't let you use it in the parking lot (they got kinda feisty about it too...)

Does sound like the current...

Re: Gauge swap...No SES ideas?

IMO the service (wrench) light is about as useful as the OCI light..."Lets turn on another light to let the driver know a light that's normally on has now burned out"
The check engine light can be...

Re: Front bumper removal/repair

The exact locations might have changed (doubt it) or the fastener size's from 2nd gen may have changed for 3rd gen but they're all pretty much held on the same way.
Another guide that might help,...

Just weld a 2" pipe (glass pack...resonator?) into a 2" split flange (http://www.amazon.com/Nickson-169-Split-Flange-4-2/dp/B000COY5L4), done. Walker brand is $15+, doesn't do anything different than...

Re: Gauge swap...No SES ideas?

Might be a fix buried in 8+ pages: http://sixthsphere.com/showthread.php/61770-Gauge-Cluster-Swap-List

My GM FSM set is only '98-'04, can't help for '05+ :(

Re: Top engine mount...finally I am buying OEM

Spent $99ish on a frowny mount in 2007, still had decades of life left in it this spring. Well, not if you want 0 vibrations but if you don't want the engine rockin' in the bay it was great...along...

Re: SL2 New flex pipe installed cost

The bolt-in "expensive" part is about $100 (walked out of Napa with it for under $90). The flex pipe alone is $50 tops. Bolt-in, maybe 30min labor...weld-in, call it around an hour.

You got hosed....
