Re: 2001 SL 1 Coolant Leak

Hmm, I just noticed you specified the SOHC engine.... I don't know if the SOHC has the same intake flaw, of the nipple breaking off.

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

Finally changed the oil and installed the new GM plug.... I used Supertech synthetic this time.

I have a Fram synthetic filter, but used a cheap Champion Labs filter since I plan to change the oil...

Re: Manual window regulator compatability

No idea on compatibility, but I wonder if you could take two regulators apart and build one good one? That's what I did on the Gen3 power window switches. They're only available used. The local...

Re: Sudden sharp pull to right around curves/turns

No experience with this, but I think you're on the right track with physically taking a look at the suspension and steering components. It sounds like something's worn out to the point of being...

Re: 2001 SL 1 Coolant Leak

You've got heater core lines and the line that connects to the intake manifold. The fitting on the intake is known to break, I've read.... thankfully mine has not.

Re: That's a first.

I've never seen them up close, but I wouldn't mind looking into a Vue or an Outlook.

Re: Ignition lock cylinder problem

I've never gotten a new copy yearly, just whenever I think the "old" key is getting worn. Maybe I should do it more often if the cylinders wear... this has actually been on my truck. I haven't had...

Re: Blinded by headlights & yellow polarized driving glasses

Usually they're following me...

Some of the lights seem ultra bright, and others I assume are just because the Saturn sits so low.

Anyone have pliers like this?

These came up in my "suggested" on Amazon because I've recently purchased some Christmas tree push pins, for my splash guards, on my truck. The Saturn has a lot of the push pins that have the center...

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

We got snow overnight, so when I went out to shovel my way to the car this morning, I sprayed the door seals with silicone.... the driver's side any way, front and back.

I wonder if the over...

Re: Jalopnik Article

I've never seen the 75mph areas. I had forgotten they raised the limit is some places.

Re: Blowout!!!

I didn't keep my rim, so I just put the tire/rim out by the road before garbage day and one of the scrappers picked it up. I think I can get rid of anything short of a dead body that way.

Cap? I've never seen a cap on the Zerk fittings... or are you talking about the ball joint boot?

Re: new tire recommendations?

I put GT Radial Champiro Icepro 3's on my SL2 in November. I'll have to get something else when it gets warm out.

I've got the 15" rims, Though.

Re: Undercoating

I've never used a needle scaler, but isn't that going to damage the paint underneath and then promote rust? It seems to me that if it's stuck on well it's better left alone. Just keep it sprayed...

Re: Undercoating

It sounds like you have the oily stuff more available in your area (are you in Canada?) and that's what you primarily think of as undercoating. The stuff I'm talking about, is asphalt, or...
