Re: programmer!

AFAIK, the OBDII PCMs are ENCRYPTED. Have fun.
OBDI PCM's have already been downloaded and figured out.
However, the effort required to reprogram one of those is not worth it.

Re: SOHC 100hp vs DOHC 124hp

Not to mention that after you deal with the dreaded "reverse slam" a few times you will be so fed up with the auto-tragic that you'll probably swap in a manual anyway. The manuals in these cars are...

Re: Turbo kits

To be THAT guy (his name is Ian) you need to have enough knowledge to start up a successful car tuning company. In his case, his company is called FSR, and half the turbo saturn crowd is rocking his...

Re: Putting A Turbo on a Saturn

Deal!
You pay for gas. And coffee! Or just coffee.
I drive by that area at least once every two weeks, my parents live around there.

Re: Saturn TDI

Haha, awesome project guys! I don't know how a diesel would sound without a muffler, but I'm also running just a straight pipe to the back, and the turbo muffles it well.

Re: Putting A Turbo on a Saturn

With good tires and suspension you can have traction in the 300 whp range in a saturn. Ever since I switched to 235/17/45 Falken's I can actually sometimes use 2nd gear if I don't floor it. But, my...

Re: S-Series Automatic Transaxle "Reverse Slam Cure-All"

Hey guys, I forgot to mention, on the last car I did this on, and on the car my friend did a few days ago, you DO NOT NEED to take off the ABS module. Just loosen the master cylinder a tiny bit and...

Re: Why all the Auto tranny bashing?

For me, put 300+ horsepower through an automatic and it will give you many reasons to swap it.
I also prefer not to keep my foot on the brake all the time in traffic. Engine brake ftw!

Re: programmer!

People have been able to pull OBDI spark and fuel curves out of the PCM, along with all the correction tables (like IAT and CLT). That has greatly helped out the MS community, as these days you can...

Re: Nightshade and Wheels

OR put down the spray can and don't **** with safety equipment. I have trouble seeing stock brake lights when the sun is shining directly on them or in my face, let alone tinted ones.

And hell...

Re: Nightshade and Wheels

I am not a fan of tinted lights, especially after I almost rear-ended a car with tinted brake lights in traffic because I couldn't see them come on with the sun out. Plus I think they look dim and...

Re: very late 1994 sw1, auto trans performance parts

And for the record, and to completely put the idea of modding a SOHC to rest, there is a guy driving an SW with a SOHC MPFI engine and a turbo. At something around 7 psi he put down less horsepower...

Re: Modifying the dashboard

That's the same one I ordered, except mine doesn't have the GPS (I didn't pay extra for that one, thinking it would be pretty bad). I'm not THAT impressed in the interface, especially the SD and USB...

Re: turbo saturn =D

oh, lol
Well in defense of mr 99saturbo I think he was referring to 300-500 hp 4-cylinders. Even then, those numbers are thrown around a lot in the 4 cylinder world lately. ****, an EVO8 MR FQ400...

Re: turbo saturn =D

I'm missing the point. Does it cost less than my $5000 car (after all the mods)? Or is it faster? Better gas mileage? Easier to drive in the city? Easier and cheaper to service?

Re: turbo saturn =D

Just one. Been running at 300 WHP for about two years. Haven't dyno'd with new cams yet, but I will easily break the 350 whp mark when I go.
I'm also two parts away from 500 hp - golden eagle block...

Re: Anyone running aftermarket head unit with Bluetooth?

I have a cheap chinese trouchscreen double-din stereo. It sucks. But it has bluetooth. You can try to talk on it, but nobody will hear you. The only reason I even got it was so I could stream music...

Re: Sound Deadening = shiny roof underlay vs. black roof underlay.

That sounds like a plan. Just beware of the fact that saturn interiors start to rattle as soon as they are taken apart for whatever reason.

Re: AMR Engineering Thread

I haven't done either in over 220k miles. Maybe that's why my brakes go to the floor and don't do anything.. :snide:

Re: turbo saturn =D

You want to change oil more often, because overall the car runs more rich and there's more blow-by. Especially on built forged engines, where some slack is allowed for the pistons to expand, oil must...
