Re: fog lights for 1994 SL2

My Outback use's 9006's for fog lights, it's setup dumps 80% of the light within 3ft of the front bumper, but does so all around the car (unlike the S-Series lights that act more like a DRIVING light...

Re: 1995 Saturn sl2 charging system problem

Tons of fun stuff on the CS series of alternators (what the S-Series use) http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/Wiring/Part2/#csseries
That page has more info on alternators than I've seen posted...

Re: calipers for S series

If the caliper piston doesn't move when pried on (pressed in), the caliper is bad.
If the caliper doesn't slide with it's pins inside the bracket, the pins and/or bracket need to be cleaned up and...

Re: Fox Body Cobra Wheels on SL1?

205/50R16's work really good size-wise.

Only Fox Body Cobra wheels I could find a picture of looked like a standard 5-spoke wheel that's been chromed out, should be rather easy to find in either...

Re: Unlimited CarFax?

With a bit of Gmail trickery and mycarfax.com you can get an overview of the useless Carfax report for an unlimited number of cars (well, technically limited to how long it takes them to figure out...

Re: motor swap fun!

SOHC computer won't shift a DOHC automatic and DOHC computer won't properly run a SOHC.

You could get a SOHC automatic and put it in there as well instead of a 5spd but I was assuming you wanted...

Re: motor swap fun!

Can't be done unless your friend is willing to swap to a 5spd.

Re: Red '99 SC2 For Sale, Blown Motor. Thoughts?

I drove a '97 SC2 for over a year with a "blown motor". It wouldn't start at the owners house and a mechanic (her ex...) diagnosed a blown motor...I brought a charged battery with me to look at it...

Re: H & R Coils.....

I'm so confused it's hurting my head. You're expecting stock ride quality from stiffer springs? :dizzy:
OEM Springs: ............................ 126 lb/in Front, 129 lb/in Rear
H&R Sport (1.4"F,...

Re: Is this site safe?

99% of the time it's not the website that's labeled "badware" that's bad, it's the advertiser's they use. Just read the "why was this site blocked" thingy, it says the exact same thing....only they...

Re: Control Arm Install

You can't see what needs to happen from your picture #1? :(

Put the ball joint in, should allow you to move the control arm over to where it needs to be to get the bolt through. Otherwise you'll...

Re: S Series Model Similarities

Can't do the swap without a '93-'96 SC1, hopefully in your SC2's body color to make things faster/cheaper.
I think:

Hood (stupid easy to do)
Headlight housing (might be easy)
Wiring hacked...

Re: 9011/9012 headlight bulbs for our cars

The 4x6 headlights used on '91-'92 SC and '93-'96 SC2's are an entirely different animal from the 9005/9006 brethren. Much easier to find brighter replacement bulbs (well, depending on how easy the...

Re: Coooold saturn

S-Series & heat, freezing temps and short drive's don't mix. Trade off for being a gas sipper. With my current 6.5mi each way trip it'd suck so much to have to be in an S-Series, just when I'd get...

Re: Battery cable question

Cables should be swappable '91-'98, maybe up to '99. They changed all kinds of stupid things starting in '00 so I'd be very surprised if a 3rd gen battery cable fit a 1st or 2nd gen.

Stock wire...

Re: Reverse Lights

The 5spd reverse light switch is so easy to replace you should be able to do it blindfolded on the first try. Large socket in the range of 22mm and deep-well (stupid connector...) is all you need,...

Re: DayLight Running Lights - Help Please

High beam is a standard 9005 bulb (low beam is 9006), so it's on this chart: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bulbs/bulb_types/bulb_types.html

Suffice to say, the DRL's are crap for...

Re: Quad High Beam mod w/DRL & Fog Lights

While I never felt the need for a brighter light output in my '96 SC2's, the '91-'92 SC & '93-'96 SC2 will do H4's with no issue at all (sure the plug is different but that's easy to fix too). Just...

Re: Has anyone tried putting 195/75R14 tires on an S Series?

A 195 is a 195, don't see why it'd rub as long as it's on a stock offset rim...unless maybe it's a mismarked 205 or 215...
I had GR2 Struts with H&R springs on the '93 SL2. Never noticed an issue...
