Re: Alarm System Randomly going off

Most likely a bad door ajar switch in the driver's door jamb. They fail quite often. Thankfully, they're cheap and relatively easy to replace.

Re: 2003 ION Stalls at Stop....Now Dangerous to Drive

The back pressure probably won't affect too much. However, the resulting exhaust leak could be preventing the upstream oxygen sensor from operating properly. During normal operation, the difference...

Re: 2003 ION Stalls at Stop....Now Dangerous to Drive

The 2003-2004 Ions don't have a MAF sensor. Only the later 2005-2007 Ions which have throttle-by-wire have a MAF (and MAP) sensor.

Does your Ion have a manual or auto transmission? Quad Coupe or...

Re: Replacing water pump 2004 Ion 2, have a few ???

Well, the holding tool needs to be bolted to the sprocket, and the sprocket needs to be separated from the water pump anyways. It's pointless to buy a water pump with a new sprocket unless one is...

Re: Engine swap

Yes, it should work. However, you'll need to reuse the intake and throttlebody off the 2006. The 2006 is throttle-by-wire, but the 2003 still uses a cable throttlebody like most older cars.

Re: front wheel bearings

It's not possible and/or cost effective to disassemble and rebuild/remanufacture hub assemblies with readily available off-the-shelf parts/bearings. If this was a feasible option you'd see lots of...

Re: Newbie here. Radio and Amp problem

You need to confirm whether or not the speakers that weren't working are blown.

If any speakers were working at all before replacing the radio, the factory amp is probably fine. I'd fix the radio...

Re: Lower Control Arm to Frame Bolts

The part number is 11589009. The bolts are the same for all Ions. Specs of bolt are M14 x 2.0 thread pitch x 131mm length (10.9 hardness).

It appears that replacement cage nuts are also available...

Re: 2007 Ion NON-ABS Low Pedal after brake work

I had this problem on my car (manual trans, no ABS) after replacing the rear shoes. In short, the self-adjusters for the rear shoes weren't adjusted out far enough after the new shoes were installed....

Re: 2003 Ion Wiper arm choreography

I had to replace this part in an Ion I previously owned. I ordered a Dorman from RockAuto and had to send it back because it was defective. I would install the AC Delco part. Dorman quality has...

Re: Name This Part! (Please....)

That's the removable glovebox door stop. The GM part number is 10356314. GM has used that same part on a lot of models since the 1990s including the Saturn S-Series. You sometimes need to remove it...

Re: 2008 Vue Electrical Problems

Leave the key in the RUN position with the door open and wiggle each relay in the underhood fuse panel. If you hear the chime (as you normally would if you cycled the key again) while wiggling a...

Re: Is there a front turn signal fuse?

You need to do more troubleshooting, but right now my money is on a bad ground.

I would start by testing for power and ground at the sockets.

Re: Is there a front turn signal fuse?

Do the hazard lights still work? If not, check the ground connection for front turn signals.

The power for the turn signals is provided by the BCM. This is why there isn't a separate fuse for them.

Re: 2009 Saturn Vue Liftgate Won't Open

Check the REAR CLOSURE 10A fuse in the I/P fuse panel if you haven't already done so. If it is blown, you may have a short in the power circuit going to the liftgate actuator.

If hitting the...

Re: Sway bar end links

Stay away from MEVOTECH. I put their premium ones in our Equinox and they are junk. They only lasted a couple years.

Re: Did all Vue Models have Amps in them? (Amplifier, speakers, subs, subwoofer)

No, only those with the "AAS" premium audio option have an external amplifier. If equipped, it will be under the right rear passenger seat. Your Vue would also have a subwoofer in the right rear...

Re: Door Chime with Key Removed

I had this problem with our 2007 Equinox years ago. Replacing the ignition switch was the solution in our case.

Your Vue doesn't use the same part, but it does use a similar design. There's a...

Re: Is my bcm shot?

It took me too long to edit my previous post, so disregard it. After thinking about it, the wiring in your doors is probably fine, but it wouldn't hurt to check them. Your speaker wires may be frayed...

Re: Aftermarket Radio No Sound Problem 2000 LS2

Does your car have AAS? If so, you need to connect the remote wire from your new radio to the corresponding wire in the harness (location A3, orange wire in factory radio's plug). If you don't do...

Re: Am I dealing with an ignition switch or BCM?

Well, your car uses both an ignition switch and a BCM, but I doubt either is the source of the problem. People jump the gun all the time thinking the worst is happening when usually the solution is...

Re: Help! Passanger front power window not rolling up?????

It's possible, but it's more likely to be broken wires going to/from the switches. If you look at the wiring diagram, the power wires go to the master switch before they go to the passenger's side...
