Wanted: Rear OEM SL2 all weather floor mats.
Yeah, a long shot I know but it can't hurt to ask. The L-Series also used these same mats for the rear. Looking for two of them, part number 21018980. I know, I could just purchase some...

Re: Advice on head gasket replacement
Similar experience with the SC2 I had. Compression test showed even compression through all cylinders, however a leak down test provided much more information. When I did a leak down on my SC2, with...

Re: Advice on head gasket replacement
Funnily enough, the SC2 I replaced the head gasket on had the exact same spring in the water jacket of cylinder 1. No idea where it came from. Anyway, the HG on the SC2 I replaced looked fine. The...

Re: FS: Two 2nd gen OEM keyfobs
Thanksgiving special, cost of shipping and they're yours. A Priority Mail envelope will be $7.75 or I can send via first class for a couple bucks cheaper.

Re: Defelector spring
They're used on Corvettes, can't remember which generation but it's a fairly recent one. Any GM dealer should be able to get them, and for significantly less than what online is asking.

Re: Saturn Vue ECM
One weird little telltale from that generation Saturn I've found is the fuel gauge. When there's no communication from the ECU, the fuel gauge doesn't move with key on and the low fuel light is on. ...

Re: I got stung today...........
An update for anyone that is interested...
The head gasket has been replaced and the head was resurfaced as well. When I pulled the head, there was a 0.002" gap between cylinder 1 and 2's...

FS: Two 2nd gen OEM keyfobs
Another couple of junkyard rescues. Both keyfobs have been cleaned and then tested on my 99 SL2. All buttons function without issue. The cases snap together tightly too. The one fob has a bit...

Re: Catalytic converters, what works?
If I remember correctly, Bosal does state that it is stainless. Being in northeast Ohio and it having gone through a couple winters, the rust that is on it does have the typical stainless steel...

Re: Catalytic converters, what works?
I've been running a Bosal 0795190 on my 99 SL2 for a couple years now without issue. The fit is perfect, an actual direct bolt on part for a change. My 99 is a federal emissions car, no AIR pump...

Re: Is anyone else doing some light reading?
I found this set on eBay. They pop up from time to time. This set was $80 shipped, which was crazy good, I couldn't pass on it. The last set for my 99 I was thinking about buying were pretty used...

Is anyone else doing some light reading?
Too good of a deal to pass up, complete set never used. The amount of information is amazing. I figured after owning my car for 21 years there wasn’t much I hadn’t figured out. I was very wrong.

Re: I got stung today...........
I had some more time to put into diagnosing the SC2. It definitely needs a head gasket. Leak-down testing with cylinder 1 at TDC and the spark plugs removed from all other cylinders, air was...
