Re: drain tubes

Had the same problem - absolutely soaked passenger floor.

Drains cleaned now - will see next rainfall.

I had the same dripping from the top of the pillars a few weeks ago, but thought it was...

Re: Smallest Rims possible on a 2006 ION3

I don't want a 205/55/16 snow. I'd rather drop a rim size, go for a slightly narrower tire, and keep the overall rolling circumference the same.

Re: Smallest Rims possible on a 2006 ION3

Thanks for the confirmation. Did you get them new, or used? If used, any idea what you got them off of (ION, old S-Series???)

Re: Smallest Rims possible on a 2006 ION3

Found it:

"What's New for 2006

The entry-level Ion 1 trim level has been dropped for 2006. Wheel designs have been revised, OnStar is now standard across the board, and air conditioning has...

Re: Smallest Rims possible on a 2006 ION3

Pretty sure it was just the ION 2 and ION3 in 2006. Could be wrong though - I've been known to be wrong before.

I'll look into the 14's more now. If the answer was a definite no, I wouldn't...

Re: Smallest Rims possible on a 2006 ION3

Wasn't sure if they changed the brake package at all - no ION1 in 2006.

Smallest Rims possible on a 2006 ION3

Just bought an ION 3. Saving my pennies up for snows. Know that a 15" rim will fit on this vehicle, will a 14" fit? I don't think so eyeballing it, but if someone has done it, that's the real...

Thanks MGonzales.

You can get me to take and drive a Civic Si... Just make sure you throw some Danica Patrick into the package too.... :D

Re: 25k!!

Although the low milage is impressive, I almost choked at the driving 4K a year idea. I wish. 4K is about 6 weeks for me.

52/6 = 8.667

Eek.

Re: Dumpin the Ion for an Si

HP is only what keeps your vehicle moving. Torque is what gets you rolling,

Oh... what's this - Honda Civic Si, 139 lbft of torque at a lofty 6200RPM. You'll never hit peak torque on this...

Re: vtek saturn

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't think that all the ecotec engines had variable valve timing. I know that the 2.4 litre does, but not so sure about the 2.2.

Re: What RPM do you shift?

No, I have unfortunately never had this opportunity. I do drive a straightframe truck as part of one of my jobs and find the double clutching to be quite helpful there. (The truck definetly isn't...

Re: Over-weight in 08'

Okay... a few things. HP to weight really doesn't matter a whole lot in a drag. Torque is a more important factor. Torque is what gets the vehicle moving, HP is what keeps it there.

2004 VUE,...

Re: Astra News: Saturn Astra makes U.S. debut in fall 2007

I would think that you'll see them making it on this side of the pond eventually. Not totally sure, but that would be my thought.

I too would like to see it built in Europe and brought over here...

Re: vtek saturn

I don't think this will get locked yet. No body has really been rude or offenseful towards others. We're just discussing the merits of swapping in a different motor with lots of fun and jokes.

Re: What RPM do you shift?

Think ya got 'er a little mixed up there.

Double clutching is typically used for downshifting on a non-syncromesh transmission. Truckers are great for double clutching as well.

Heel toe...

Re: What RPM do you shift?

On the SOHC I shift between 4500-5000 RPM. Torque peak is 2400RPM. Never had the opportunity to drive a DOHC with a clutch in it - I'd probably shift around 6000RPM though.

Re: Do you have any aftermarket stereo equipment?

I'm running a Pioneer DEH4500MP. Not too bad. Looking to slip to an Alpine sometime early-mid next year.

Have inquired about having the "Claus Man" drop off an XM receiver on the way by the...

Re: vtek saturn

Yeah. Get a phat K20 for a S2000. Those are the *****le. Apparently you can get between 600 and 800 hp from the stock bottom end when you turbo!
