Re: The GM thinking has reared it's ugly head with me

They have claimed their attempts on previous prop shafts to remove the bearing has required heat, which affected the integrity of the shaft. My assumption is they had to torch them off and it...

Re: The GM thinking has reared it's ugly head with me

UPDATE to the prop shaft.

After a bit of research the Saturn dealer agreed that removing the prop shaft should not damage anything in any way and the car was undriveable with the destroyed...

Re: Report: GM May Sell Saturn, Hummer Brands to Shangai Automotive Industry Corporat

Don't the Chinese call their boats Junks?

I see wally world with a Chinese dealership.....if so they'll have to make the seats wider though.

It may give new definition to the term road...

Re: The GM thinking has reared it's ugly head with me

IIRC the Audi was the '02 import lemon of the year. Definitely no prize. Subaru uses the same nasty transmissions everyone else uses. The problem is all the maker share parts. None are worth a...

Re: Deer hit the vue

http://homepage.mac.com/wesrudy/pics/DeerHit.jpg

45 mph before the hit, Santa's 6 point reindeer flew for at least 100 feet before landing in a ditch with a broken back.

I was in the Twilight...

Re: The GM thinking has reared it's ugly head with me

Call it an oil change replacement. Minor maintenance is expected. :)

Just the tail pipe leaves it's mark in the driveway.

Re: Accients when Saturn is under warranty

I hit a deer at 45 mph, the total was over $5,000, $3,800 before 'unseen' damage was found in the cooling system. I took it to the dealer who runs his own auto body shop for more than 20 different...

Re: The GM thinking has reared it's ugly head with me

The '03 has been sitting in the driveway for three weeks......so it's all on us.....they can't produce the part, so we are parked for poor engineering. If I didn't need to get around I wouldn't have...

Re: dreading another winter in my Vue,5 speed- 4cyl-fwd

I agree that the second gear starts (though a tad tougher on the clutch) and going up grades in a gear higher than normal keep the wheel slip to a minimum. When I'm not paying attention starting...

The GM thinking has reared it's ugly head with me

Well, we found out the AWD propellor shaft's mid-ship bearing is wiped out.....now, number one the replacement requires about a $800 repair bill, why? The entire shaft has to be removed (plus some...

Re: Iconic Saturn Brand Could Stay on the Road Beyond General Motors

A Chinese Saturn, if you think they have problems being made south of the border wait till the inferior metal consortium gets hold of the car. I would rather see them shoot it in the head rather...

Re: Saturn and Saab dealers face uncertain fates

Opel hasn't the best rep, so what's left will go headlong to the automotive abyss with little fanfare. The VUE is history, the Astra was a mistake from the beginning and unfortunatley the Sky will...

Re: NY Times: GM Had Considered Selling Saturn Earlier this Fall, May Now Buy Out Sat

As Daimler found out American white collar salaries knew no bounds. Search the salary of the head of Daimler then look at the VP salaries of American auto makers. How many cars do you have to sell...

Re: Unbeatable reliability!

100K is an OK car, but I always shoot for 200K before I think about buying again. Ford Aerostart 190K, Diesel Rabbit 230K, Ford Thunderbird 134K and leaking from every gasket known to...

Re: Aura GL Wagon

Agree wholeheartedly. I mentioned this to my Saturn dealer 4 yeras ago. The AWD and FWD wagons should have been in the mix for sometime. My son shied away from Saturn because the VUE had no manual...

Suggestions to Saturn for future VUEs

I've complained enough, here's what I'd like to see.

1) Return to look of slightly rounded '06
2) No significant changes in powerplant, body style, glass, dimensions for 10 years
3) Return to...

Re: Perhaps my last

The whole point of Saturn is it was autonomous........I believe that is 90% of the problem. Saturn is no longer Saturn but just another spot for homolgomous GM parts and no imagination.

Saturn...

Re: T/C vs. AWD

4WD is for off road

AWD is for asphalt

TC enhances FWD immensely in the wet, most probably enhances AWD exponentially if available.

I would never take a VUE AWD into a field and expect it to...

Re: New Better tires

The Bridgestone tires were the most disappointing part bolted on to either one of the VUEs I have. They were almost criminal. A tire, in this day and age of green, should go a minimum of 50K, we...
