Re: 2002 SL1 misfires - no codes showing

If your scanner says U1300 is for engine misfires you need to throw that useless POS scanner out, it's doing more harm than good.

Re: Electrical Issue...

If a '96-'02 S-Series has power locks it has keyless entry, regardless of the key-fobs current known location. '96 has no alarm/programming functions, it's just a simple lock/unlock module....

Re: re-surfacing a 2002 SL1 head

'00-'02 DOHC's have plastic intake manifolds. '91-'99 DOHC's and '95-'02 SOHC's have the same aluminum intake manifold (minor changes to how the fuel rail mounts year to year making swapping more...

Re: Coolant Level Sensor

The level sensor is molded into the tank, the only way to replace it is to replace the tank. I'd start with cleaning it with warm soapy water first, usually it just gets gummed up some and the warm...

Re: Electrical Issue...

Push button start? That's not factory installed and virtually guaranteed to be the issue. Have to locate the receiver, find the model number on it and hope it's a popular one so there's a...

Re: Torque strut engine mount

One's sad and one isn't. Both OE, the not sad one works better and was OE '91-'95ish then again '98ish-'02 while the sad one was OE '95ish-'98ish.

Can almost guarantee it doesn't matter which part...

Re: Brakes/ oil pan gasket ?

Oil filter torquing: 1/4turn past finger tight. Sometimes heat cycling gets it more stuck than it should be so a wrench and a fairly light effort is needed. If more than a light effort is required...

Re: Fumes leak into cabin

Borrow a car to go buy a $100 110v mig welder, throw a 2lb spool of $15 flux-core wire in it, grab a $20 welding helmet and fix it right the first time. Typical u-bolt clamps are crap compared to...

Re: Brake Fluid change

Not if you plan ahead and stop at the hardware store for a 2.5ish foot long 2x4 or railing rod/dowel or similar. It's easier to swap your foot for the wood with an automatic with the sun sized brake...

Probably aren't reefing on it enough, like I always fail to do. Stupid things (ends, inners and ball-joints...) test fine according to my understanding, yet the tech's say it fails and the handling...

Re: 1997 sl2

You can't slide around in the seat in high speed corners, you don't have to use fancy cleaners on them to keep them nice, you can't use fuzz off the seat back to fix small holes and you don't have to...

Re: 94 sl1 rear hub assembly

I'm surprised a SL1 has ABS at all. Rear hubs are the same for both ABS & non ABS but ABS won't work and the ABS light will be on. That lights rather annoying, being red and all...lol
