Re: Helping a friend diagnose '99 SL2 barely runs

Update:

After being completely frustrated, she finally made her dad take it to a garage. They diagnosed a loose ground somewhere (not sure which). Problem solved.

Thank you all for ideas. It...

Re: '98 SL2 Will Not Start Below Freezing

Dump some dry gas in it. It's the safest and cheapest bet. The fuel lines are freezing.

Attention Helping a friend diagnose '99 SL2 barely runs

Hey all! I've been away from here (Vue forums) for quite some time, so I apologize.

A friend of mine is in dire need to get her '99 SL2 up and running.

Her dad and a friend has been trying to...

Re: Retrofitted Seat, Shifter, and Other Mods

There are probably a good handful of people here who would be very interested in the seat retrofit. If/when you do the passenger's side, please do a writeup on how you did it.

Oh, and welcome...

Re: 15"rim questions

tirerack.com is your friend... do a search for wheels on there, and you should find the information listed under the specs for each wheel that's compatible.

Re: 2004 VUE Transmission swap

If you get it replaced, trade that puppy in ASAP! The VTi (CVT) in the Vue was HORRIBLE.

Re: VUE Problem with BCM?

You won't need the ignition switch/keys from the donor. The Vue does not have Passkey (chipped keys) to worry about.

Did you correct the corrosion you found on the positive terminal? No success?

Re: 2004 Vue transmission

Good to hear.

I had it done to my '05 under the campaign. It really did tame it down a notch, and it liked to burn through more gas around town. It did great on the open road. I got as good as...

Re: Humming noise from 2005 Saturn Vue Redline

Hey Joshua,

I'm surprised nobody chimed in yet. My bet is on a wheel bearing. Which side is anyone's guess, as I chased that sound in my '05 Red Line. It sounded like one side, but replacing it...

Re: Hit a deer tonight

Ok... as a fellow PA'er here (Altoona, assuming you live in PA as well), I'll chime in...

Yes, as long as the deer "hit YOU," it's comprehensive, not collision. Any good agent will write it up...

Re: Upgrading to 2006

My '04 FWD V6 is doing very well with 188k on it. It does have the shudder, but I've been putting off a fluid change since it doesn't get driven much. It still runs like a bat out of hell, though!

Re: Recalibrate Speedo

It isn't a mechanical link like older vehicles. It's completely electronic. The only way to do it would be to crack the BCM code, which nobody really does since there is about zero aftermarket...

Re: Transmission Compatibility Question

I CAN be rebuilt, but it WILL fail again. It's just a matter of time. The overall transmission was a poor design.

There was a member here who had it rebuilt and it blew again like a week later......

Re: Back seat cover made by Saturn

Keep an eye on eBay. There have been some leather kits on there from time to time for reasonable prices, but you really have to keep an eye out. They would be for replacing the factory leather, not...

Re: Loose wire????

This is a bit odd. If I remember correctly, that isn't a bulb that can be replaced without replacing the whole cluster.

If Kyle is still lingering around, he may have had one apart enough to know...

Re: Torque Converter campaign neutered my '05 Red Line

Unless you have a torque converter problem to deal with.

On another note, keeping the transmission fluid changed should be sufficient. The other downfall to this campaign is you'll lose some...

Re: Saturn 2003 Cvt Burnt Transmission

Try to sell or trade it in ASAP while the transmission is still working well! At least make sure you do so before the warranty expires.

Sadly, you won't have many options for modifying a Honda-powered Vue. The support just isn't there.

Re: 2007 or 2008?? Please help

That seems a tad steep, unless it's in absolute perfect condition. But, you did mention the timing belt etc. was done, which is a pretty hefty expense.

Mechanically, the Red Line is identical to...
