Re: Needing Fuel Tank Shield

claybear, I'd suggest the following:

1) Use an OEM parts website, https://www.gmpartscenter.net/, for example, and compare the shield part numbers between the sedans and wagons. If they use the...

Re: Right Side Drive Axle Seal.

fdryer's remark about a garter spring from the old axle shaft seal seems likely to me. It is difficult to tell from the pictures of the seals from RockAuto.com whether or not those springs are...

Re: GM ignition switch criminal case dismissed

Thank you for the interesting article, fdryer! Others may disagree, but I believe that the request by the Justice Dept. to dismiss the criminal charges was the correct thing to do. I believe that it...

Re: Sub Frame LS2, 2000

So, Rj 2000 LS2, if you've been able to do your research then you've discovered that the only difference between the two engine cradles depends upon whether or not your car came with an automatic or...

Re: the old front wheel bearing trick on L100

Okay, so it's Durago. Although I had a hunch that this might have been an error when I saw "Duralag" it's not really a significant concern. Nevertheless, I appreciate the correction! :) This...

Re: the old front wheel bearing trick on L100

If the price stated above is accurate then it's practically certain that the parts come from Asia, but not Japan nor Taiwan. I'm reasonably certain which country it is, but I'll let SaturnFans...

Re: Sub Frame LS2, 2000

I would suggest visiting an OEM parts website and comparing part numbers from '00-'05 of L-Series cars with the V6 engine. There is a difference depending on whether the car had an automatic...

Re: the old front wheel bearing trick on L100

I think it unlikely, fdryer. The Centric brand bearing was on the car for two years before it began to fail. After the hub and bearing were removed I was directed to notice the rust present on the...

Re: the old front wheel bearing trick on L100

rfisher, I think that all of us members at SaturnFans can understand the desire to avoid being defrauded by unscrupulous repair businesses of whatever kind. I've seen this kind of thing occur at...

Re: Draining Coolant - Where does it come out?

Excellent points, fdryer! In particular, the drain plug at the base of the water pump cover (it's not actually in the water pump itself - a minor point, I know). Residual antifreeze does remain at...

Re: the old front wheel bearing trick on L100

I confused things - my apology. I thought that there was a video related to the loaner tool kit for removing the front wheel bearing. More importantly, I've seen no kit available for removing front...

Yup, that's the big concern, and one can't know without making the attempt to use the kit...oy vey...:xeye::|
Would you please post the link to the video showing this bearing replacement tool kit...

Re: 05 L300 v6 timing belt suggested parts.

Well, not necessarily. I'm still running with the factory installed fuel pump. Individual experiences with various parts needing unscheduled replacement can vary significantly. Hopefully, the fuel...

Re: the old front wheel bearing trick on L100

Whatever you do, avoid using the Centric brand bearing. I had one installed on my car and it failed after a little over two years. Go with National, SKF, Timken, or FAG (a German co.). A good bearing...

Re: Anyone changed an ignition module and radio static and fast idle after ?

The factory ICM was replaced under recall many years ago ('04 perhaps?). There have never been irregularities of any kind with regard to that part since I purchased the car in Sept. 2001 (A Spaced...

Frankly, I'm astounded that any mechanic would attempt to bamboozle and lie to a customer that either of those parts have some sort of mileage at which they should be replaced because no such...

Thermostat gauges aren't related to pressure of any kind. What do you mean?

Is the mouse nesting removal what rectified your problem from the post linked below (five months ago)?
