Re: Oops ... What Did I Blow This Time?

SUCCESS AT LAST

Thanks to all the input here I finally traced that "unknown" fuse to the driver's side of the center console. Sure enough there was a 10-amp fuse blown and it was marked "wiper...

Re: Oops ... What Did I Blow This Time?

Thanks for the pep talk. I really appreciate it and agree 100%.

However, before someone gets the wrong idea, the motor I rewired was not for the wipers but for the little motor than runs the...

Re: Oops ... What Did I Blow This Time?

Thanks so much for the detailed sheets. While I'm not fluent with electronics, I already see a fuse I didn't know was in the circuit. Needless to say, I'll try to track this down.

Re: Difficulty Ordering Correct Body Parts

Just wanted to close this thread by saying thanks to Rock Auto and National Autobody Parts Warehouse in Grand Prairie, TX, I finally got all the correct body parts to bring my Ion back to looking...

Oops ... What Did I Blow This Time?

Due to a tire blowout I lost the pump motor on the windshield washer pump in my 2005 Saturn Ion 2 Quad Coupe. The blowout also took off the wiring harness connector, leaving bare wires. I rigged the...

Re: Difficulty Ordering Correct Body Parts

Just to keep you up to date on my "wrong parts" situation. I've ordered the correct parts (hopefully) from Rock Auto. The good news is that the fulfillment company for the original wrong bumper cover...

Re: Difficulty Ordering Correct Body Parts

To keep you up to date, PartsGeek has agreed to reimburse me for the wrong mirror they sent. Of course I'm still out the original $10 shipping fee and my $20 shipping to send it back to them. But I...

Re: Difficulty Ordering Correct Body Parts

SaturnParts.net seems to me to be a ghost company. The WhoIs information on the Web site says it's operated through GoDaddy and is based in Florida.

I've heard nothing from them regarding the...

Re: Difficulty Ordering Correct Body Parts

Thanks for the heads-up on RockAuto. I heard back from PartsGeek and they said the wrong order was my fault because I didn't mention I had an Ion 2. Problem with that statement is that there is no...

Difficulty Ordering Correct Body Parts

I have a 2005 Saturn Ion and from research I've determined it's probably an Ion 2 Quad Coupe with the backward opening rear doors, although it could be an Ion 3 Quad Coupe. I'm not going to bore you...

Re: Stupid is as stupid does

Actually, I had a yellow sticky note but it was in the driver's seat with the sticky side up. Didn't do me a bit of good once I moved the Ion into position. :blockhead Thank goodness it didn't say...

Re: Stupid is as stupid does

Hey, I asked for the pointing and snickers. :D I deserve every arrow for pulling such a dumb stunt. You say lucky and the actual outcome is a miracle. There was no damage whatsoever on either...

Re: Stupid is as stupid does

To tell you the truth, when I got in the Ion, realized how I had screwed myself, I immediately wondered why the whole thing didn't catch on fire. There was no grating sound (or any sound) when I...

Stupid is as stupid does

I tow my 2005 Saturn Ion 5-speed manual four down behind my motor home. Upon returning to my home base yesterday I realized that for the 100 mile trip I had left the Ion's parking brake on. ...

Is There A Hazard Warning Relay Fuse?

Please forgive the ignorant-sounding question. While most of you have had problems with the "Flasher" button falling back into the dash area, my button is still in its proper place but the emergency...

Is There A Left And Right Strut On 05 Ion?

I just ordered two front Monroe "Quick Strut" assemblies (Monroe 172203) and then had the horrible question, "Is there a left and right for my 2005 Ion2"? I've searched this forum and if the answer...

Re: New Parts for 1997 Saturn SL1

The water pump has "WS 2371" stamped on the end of the shaft where the pulley is bolted and handwritten in white on the body of the water pump is "1035-1". I see no other markings on it. The...

Re: New Parts for 1997 Saturn SL1

Adventureoflink, maybe I didn't make myself clear enough so I appreciate your particular response. I don't own a Saturn any more. I have no need for the parts. I have no reason to save them. I...
