Re: 1995 Saturn SL2 Sluggish When Cold

Agreed, my '98 is only a few years newer, and performance is pretty much the same from -10F to 90F

A majority of the S series have already had this fix, but the ECTS is one thing that can cause...

Re: Post Your Latest Oil & Filter Change.

As mentioned in your other thread, the 1998 S-series does not have a Change Oil light on the dash that needs to be reset.

If you have a light on your dash, it is something else (perhaps low oil...

Yep. I'm lost

If you haven't found out how to reset the OCI light for your '01 SC2 that wasn't mentioned in your opening post, [/QUOTE]

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

Those look nice - reminds me a bit of the wheels you sometimes see on cop cars.

Oil change after a piston soak this weekend. Got two 5 quart jugs of Pennzoil Platinum synthetic from Meijer's...

Re: UCN's 2002 SC2

You got me, good one :D
I will say my own experience with Chrysler minivans has been very positive. First one rusted out at 210k miles at the driver side shock tower and didn't want to spend money...

Re: 3rd Gen coupe door panel question

Inner door panel is not difficult.

Probably trickiest part is step 2, where you remove the latch rod from the plastic retainer.

If you have crank windows, some people have problems removing...

Re: Under hood liners

Where's the noise coming from? A hood liner will only help somewhat with noises coming from under the hood.

If you changed tires to reduce noise, does not seem like you have identified a...

Re: 96 SC2 bringing it back to life (slowly)

Yeah, flu has been a tough one this year.

That engine is sure purty!

When I did my chain, in addition to assembly lube, I carefully poured 1 qt of oil over the chain and upper sprockets...

Re: Couple questions...

Do you have an OBDII scanner that can show you live data? You can compare IAT temp to ECTS temp on a cold engine.

Re: How much rust is ok?--is this worth buying?

Is an auto to manual trans swap out of the question for you?

Someone recently posted a Copart auction for South Carolina, auto trans 3rd gen wagon (think it was a 2001 with 80k miles). The guy...

Re: Radiator fan problems.

OP posted this in the wrong thread:

Were you getting a steady clatter/rattling while the car was running?

How do you know the chain "skipped" - something someone told you, or did you open...

Re: Transmission Issues with a 99 SC1

OP's first post was about replacing driver side axle and trans fluid.

the one that tends to break is the passenger side - there is a rubber balancer on cars that came with steel wheels, and...

That's pretty clever.

You didn't mention your location, but the AC will not turn on if ambient temps are below ~40F or so, meaning the fan won't turn on, either.

The DIYguy thread...

Re: Radiator fan problems.

I don't believe that is true for the Saturns.

My '98 had a bad ECTS connector and my fan would never turn on. You can't tell by looking whether the connector or wiring is bad.

vdc = Volts, DC...
