Horn

I would like to replace my original horn for something louder. Is it an easy task or best left to a pro?
Any recommendations for brand or type of horn which basically will install easily when old one is removed.

Back in the 70's and 80's I installed one of these http://www.hadleyadvantage.com/products-and-solutions/products/horns/bully-horns-kits/14-93-black-plastic-bully-air-horn-kit into every new car my parents bought. Not gets more peoples attention than leaning on an air horn mounted in a little Dodge 024. Everything fit underhood too.

You might consider adding another horn with a different pitch. I'm not certain what the pitch of your horn is. On my LS1 it's an "A" (A 440, for the musically inclined). AC Delco used to provide a two lower pitches, "D" & "F", and one higher, "C." The higher pitch will give you more "bang for your buck" because higher pitches cut through other sounds around them more easily. Their products may be easier to install since the wiring connectors are usually included. It should require relatively little effort to adapt them into the system.

You would need to contact someone at AC Delco to help you with the pitch selection you'd prefer. In order to determine which pitch is on your VUE (if you have no musical background) use YouTube and search for a D, F, A, or C pitch and compare it with the sound your horn is making.

Not sure what pitch it is but all I know is that far too often other drivers are drifting into my lane and I lean on my horn but no one can hear it. I think it's time to get it replaced. Where is the horn located on the VUE?
