Hello from Northern CA
Just thought I would check in as we find ourselves the proud owner of a new to us 02 SL2. Kinda sudden and we didn't expect it but here we are. :dizzy: Our new to us Saturn has 44K miles on the odo and was towed another ~27K miles as a motorhome dinghy. We plan on using it as an RV dinghy also.
I really appreciate all the great technical info on this forum. Good Stuff!:D

Welcome to SaturnFans from a SoCal'er! It's remarkable that you found an SL2 with such low mileage. Did you know the previous owner? I hope you'll enjoy using it as your "dinghy."

Yup, I knew the guy that bought it new in 2002. My Dad and Mom used to RV around the country in their 1992 Bounder Diesel. Mom had a couple of minor strokes got to where she needed an automatic transmission so Dad sold off their little Ford Ranger (stick shift) dinghy they had, and bought the Saturn. We (wife & I) went down to Sacramento and assisted with the purchase in 2002. So I (we) pretty much know the entire history of the vehicle. When Dad decided to quit driving at 97 years young, I asked him if I could buy his Saturn dinghy car. He said "sure", "give me 1$ to make it official". That's the story on the low miles. Last time he got fuel was in 2014 so I went down and filled it up and dumped some fuel stabilizer in the tank. You just never know. I plan on doing all the normal standard maintenance items in the coming weeks. I just couldn't let this little devil slip out of our family. :)

Re: Hello from Northern CA
44k, that's awesome. Probably aren't even burning significant oil yet :)

Synthetic oil and ATF might be a good idea.
Post up in the S series General forum if you ever decide to sell. Shouldn't be hard to find a buyer for a low miles, unmolested car
