2008 outlook electrical issues after trailer hook up

I have a 2008 saturn outlook xe. I added a trailer hitch and tapped into my tail lights for the trailer light harness. i bought everything from e-trailer was really easy hooking it all up. This weekend was first time pulling the boat. 20 miles into trip stopped to fuel up and the ignition key would not turn all the way back just to the acc position. later noticing I'd lost turn signals. All together the sunroofs don't work, no turn signals, no brake lights ( the top middle one still works), the driver side rear window won't go down, the rear view mirror compass, the 110 outlook all doesn't work. though the running lights still work all the way back to the trailer. i tried unhooking the trailer harness where i tapped in at, but it didn't correct anything. Any ideas? thank you

My guess is those "taps" not only spliced onto/over your wires, some wires were cut in the process..

??YOU used those splices that you have to squeeze down with some pliers in order to cut through the insulation and splice the power over onto your trailer harness, yes?

I tend to agree with the possibilities billysvue has pointed out for your considerattions. I would ask the following question any way. Were there no electrical problems prior to the addition of the trailer wiring?
