Saturn SL2 keeps blowing ignition fuse.
My 2002 Saturn SL2 keeps blowing the big 30 amp ignition fuse under the hood. It does it every time I try to start the car. All the accessories and lights work fine. What is wrong?

Thanks, Mike

The wiring diagram shows 30A branching off in two directions; to the ignition switch and HVAC blower relay. Your descriptions, if correct, blows the 30a fuse when turning the ignition switch to START? If correct then either the starter solenoid shorted or the wiring going to the starter shorted to the engine/chassis.

Were any electrical mods done recently?

I'm having the same problem with my 97 SL2. Is the wiring any different? and What exactly is the best way to find the short?

Re: Saturn SL2 keeps blowing ignition fuse.
As you can see, the original poster never replied so this thread stays open for anyone to comment. Unfortunately, you shouldn't use the wiring diagram since yours is a '97 and not a '02. It would be better to simply post a new thread and not piggy back to a dead one. Add as much car history as possible, including mileage, maintenance done, parts replaced. A description of what you did for testing and presuming a short occurred helps.
