A new feeditems entry has been added:

[drupal=3029]General Motors Plans to Sell Saturn this Year[/drupal]
From the Associated Press by way of the NYT: Saturn General Manager Jill Lajdziak said the brand, once billed as a different kind of car company, most likely will be sold, given the interest of several buyers who have surfaced. She says GM will take other bids for the brand until June 1.
I read this as saying that GM is badly in need of cash to keep its other plans going. So it needs to sell Saturn sooner rather than later.

If GM still has lots of cash on hand, it can wait out the recession (as originally announced, in 2011) and see sales numbers improve before selling Saturn for, hopefully, a higher price. But if it has to liquidate NOW, then GM needs cash fast.

I hope GM accepts a reasonable offer for Saturn so the new owners can make a go of it. I don't want to wait until June 1st, decide it tomorrow.

Let's go forward and see if the new Saturn can fly!

I REALLY REALLY hope Saturn does survive...BUT... If it doesn't, all the Saturn owners in Canada and the U.S. should plan a day to meet in various locations around our countries to show G.M how TICKED OFF we are about being screwed by them.......and then set our cars on fire....just kidin......about the fire.
