sl1 sl2 swap
 
ok i have a 1993 sl1 5 speed and im wanting to do a motor swap i want a dohc what do i need to do for the swap to work right? and what am i looking at price. wise?

Price will depend on where you get the parts and how much of the work you do yourself. As for what you need, you need a DOHC engine from a compatible year, PCM, and full drivetrain wiring harness.

If you want it to emulate an SL2, even functionally, you'll need to swap more than the engine.

There are, give or take, 234897159 threads covering various swap projects here on SF, including a swap guide "sticky" in either the Tech or Mods section.

It would probably be cheaper or at least not much more, and definitely WAY easier, to just buy a decent first generation SL2 and drive it as-is. A first gennie driver can probably be had for not much more than a plausible SL2 donor, and that's before you figure in the cost in time and $ to do the swap.
