Oil in plug well.

For the 3.0 motor. I changed valve cover gaskets 5 yrs ago. Spark plug well was filled with oil. Changed front gasket last yr as itís not real hard. Oil again. Did the rear gasket last week. Oil again. Is it just a lousy design for seal? Many other cars have similar designs. Dohc? Why do vue gaskets leak?

Probably have to redo it again. I'd use some RTV along with new seals to help out.

Now if you have a decent amount of oil blow by coming from worn piston rings, then all the RTV in the world won't help.

you can lift the front of plenum to do the front VC gasket. but not the rear. the plenum has too come off. unless you have really small hands. of course i bought cheapo gaskets. they are black. and seem like rubber. dont think they are silicone. but you would expect them to seal at first?

I've had 50/50 luck with cheap RockAuto type parts, maybe that is a problem here? Fel-Pro and AC Delco parts have never steered me wrong...

well, when you use a pic to pry out the bits of the old gasket and they snap into pieces you know they are cheap quality parts. a rubber gasket should not snap/break/shatter as you remove it.
