Is this the correct valve cover hose?

The SW2 needs the hose from the front valve cover to the air intake plenum (on the right side of the engine). I think this provides fresh air when the PCV opens? I found this hose on Amazon but I can't tell from the dimensions if it's the correct hose or not. I measured the hose at 7" long in the straight section (from elbow to elbow). Anyone know?

Yes, but you can save a few dollars and pick it up at advance auto, and use 20-25% off by ordering on line and picking it up at the store.
If the snow storm is not too bad, Loveland, CO has 2 of their stores.

Dorman 46060.

Thanks for the confirmation! I didn't even think of checking locally... :dizzy:

Or save a few more dollars and use generic rubber hose. I think they sell fuel line by the foot or inch at the store.

It ends up being an S-shape because it doesn't have the nice 90 degree bends, but it has worked fine in my 98 SL2 for many years

probably paid $1 for that, years ago :D

I used Prestone for $3.49 at O'Reilly. I believe part number FU0308. I just used the whole 2 foot length.

The official snow total from the city was 20", but I'm up on a hill and only got 15" at my house. Unfortunately, the city doesn't plow my neighborhood and none of my cars have more than about 9" of ground clearance. :merry:

^^ Lots of snow, somehow I'm not sure Amazon Prime (UPS) would get the online part any faster than you eventually getting to the local parts store.

I used ordinary tubing once for the same 'repair', but I didn't like the look, so I got the correct pre-bent tubing and went that route instead.

Make sure you get some clamps to hold it on..

Hmm, I've never found that hose before.... Only the Dorman is listed for my 2000.

I don't think GM used clamps on that hose originally. It should be under vacuum, although, I think mine is pressurized now.

Thanks for the ideas alordofchaos and NWSaturn247, but my nature forces me to side with toggenburg on this one! :D

mattwithcats, RockAuto won't ship to me any more due to the recent changes in internet tax laws (separate rates for cities vs states). :upset:
Luckily Amazon's prices are often comparable!

I figured this setup might minimize risk of oil vapor intrusion. Regardless, Goldie runs like a top.

That looks like decent routing for that hose
