Aura foglights melting plactic?

Hello all! My first post here..was wondering if anyone else has noted that after running the fog lights for awhile it has melted the plastic around the fog light assembly? Not in a big way but enough that I could visually see it and feel ruts in the plastic.

Thanks!

My new babay!

I am assuming that since no one has responded that they either have not checked this, noticed this or are not answering ??

I ment to look today, I did kind of glance at them and I think I may have noticed something off, but I was in the middle of something and forgot to look closer. I'll take a look tomorrow because I have used them quite a bit.

Hmm, that's interesting. I haven't heard anything about this, but I'll let you know if I do.

I am not sure if this is an issue with the fog lamps or an issue with the molding of the recess they fit in. When I was looking at the aura's for the first time, I noticed this on every single XR model on the lot. The spot was always in a different place but always there no matter what. And these were cars with 5 - 10 miles on them. I doubt they would have had the fog lamps on enough to melt any plastic.

well I just drove home with mine one the entire time about an hour and when I parked I checked them out. The area wasn't even hot. I did notice on each that the plastic seem to have some sort of tool mark or lets say a scrape. Looks like it be from the line. So no I did not notice any melting issues and I use them quite a bit as I do not think the headlights are all that great and the front of the car is much brighter with the fogs on.

Maybe it's the mold that makes these plastic pieces that is doing it.

Hmm...Thats good to know. I haven't been driving mine much as the weather has been bad and I dont want to get it dirty ;)

I think I will take it in and see what the service dept has to say about it.
