Power Window Problem

This is on a '96 SC2.... last night when I rolled up the driver's side window it fully closed, but at the same time made a loud "pop." Now the window will neither roll up, or down. I hear the motor running and a clicking sound, but nothing happens. The window cannot be moved down by hand. What's wrong? How hard is it to take the inner and outer skins off the door? What parts do I need? I've searched the forums looking for instructions for SC2 window repair, but have yet to find it. Thanks again for all your help.

Re: Power Window Problem

Look for window regulator...You'll find plenty. You'll have to remove the outer door skin. I've seen several posts with instructions.

Re: Power Window Problem

I took the door skin off this past weekend to check out my power window problem. The motor works fine, but the gear driving the regulator does not turn. I have found a motor with gear at a local parts store. How hard is it to just change out the motor? I think it would be much easier than replacing the whole works. Thanks.
