Cranks, won't fire

I hate to start another one of these threads, but this one's got me stumped.

95 SL1.

couple months ago it started rough a few times in the cold. Seemed fine once it warmed up. Then a couple times it would fire and then quit in the cold. Then it wouldn't start at all.

I do have spark. I also *hear* a buzz when I put the key to RUN and I assume thats the fuel pump working. Also, I opened the air intake and sprayed some starter fluid in there, closed it, and then cranked it. Nothing. The starter is cranking about half speed now (and with starter fluid test) due to battery losing charge. Should I charge it up and try again?

Any help is appreciated. Commuting with the van is pricey.

Welcome to Saturnfans!

1-Charge the battery.

2-Replace the engine coolant temperature sensor (ECTS) if the original one is still in there. They're plastic and crack, leading to continuous rich mixtures, hard starting and flooding. Buy the two-wire brass sensor from any auto store. Use the Forum Jump below to find the How-to library about it.

3-Remove the spark plugs and dry them if they're soaked with fuel. Blip the starter to blow out any raw fuel remaining.

Alas, I have no use for folding money or loose change!? No place to carry them under my wings and they're not very aerodynamic. :hmpf: I'd send you my duck bill (for feed) but I can't figure out how to hold a pencil with one of my wings. ;)
