Anyone replace there front and rear Strut mounts
 
I'm installing new struts all around and wanting to see if anyone also install new mounting kits also.

on a 95, you'll probably need new mounts in the front, but seeing as you're in TX take a look at how rusted the bolts are and decide for yourself. You wont need new rears since the bolts are in the inside of the car.


Just be ready to fight with the strut, cause its somewhat annoying to get it bolted up if you dont have a helper to hold the strut.

I just swapped out my Eibach pro kit back to stock springs... and I have KYB GR2 struts all around. It took me about 4 hours to do very slowly... I screwed around quite a bit, had some smokes, had some ice-cream. I have pix if you need. I'm still using the original upper mounts. AFAIC, I'll replace them when they NEED replacing, since I took them apart, greased them... they look to be in great shape.

It is not just rusted bolts on the mounts you need to worry about. The rubber bushings also wear out. When I did my rears the bushing was cracked almost all the way around. If your taking the strut out anyway it would be a good thing to check.
I would have hated to have it fail because I would have had to replace the rear window when the strut shot through it.

i've replaced all four struts, all four springs and all four strut mounts on top. the front struts have bearing on top that eventually gets busted and the ball bearing fall out when you remove the nut on top of the front struts. they'll make noise when you turn the steering wheel. the rear struts mount on top gets torn up and allow the rear struts to pogo stick up when you go over bumps. once you remove the shelf covering and the cap, you can look and see if they are torn up or not. if you've never had them replaced and you have say 100,000 miles or more i suggest doing it when you replace the struts themselves.
