engine swap ? 99 sl2 swap in 98sl2
 

I have 98 sl2 with seized motor & mannual trans will a 99 sl2 engine be a plug & play swap?THANK YOU

It will be pretty close. You might have to get an exhaust downpipe from another 99 (if yours is cut) and get it welded on. The 99s had a funky angle coming off the exhaust manifold.


If the 99 had an automatic tranny you'll want to swap over the flywheel and the flywheel bolts (these are longer than the flexplate bolts).

Consider a new water pump, thermostat, Engine Coolant Temp Sensor, clutch, and anything else you can see that needs attention while you're in there.
