purchased a 2000 LW2 Wagon V6

Hi folks,

Just purchased a 2000 LW2 Wagon V6. Not sure of exact name of trim level, but it doesn't have the leather seats. Odom reads 67K.

Anyway, I already owned a 1999 SL1. Decided to purchase this car because I have two infants and space in our accord was tight.

One question someone may be able to answer for me...where can I purchase a manual for the car. The dealer didn't get one when they acquired the car. I figured ebay might not be bad, but I want to make 100% sure it is correct one and no pages are missing. Just never know.

What about a service manual or videos? I purchased the All Data DIY subscription, that is always helpful.

Also, spare key and remote. Can dealerships order these for me? I figured I get an answer on monday when dealer opens up, but maybe someoen can answer in short term.

Thanks!

For all those items, eBay is a great source. You will need to program the new remote, though, which can be done at your dealer. I've seen all the literature you need (service manual, etc) on eBay in the past.

Congrats on your new car. Enjoy the V6--that's a great engine!

I just got a spare, factory car remote fob off of e-bay for my 08 Impala & they try to tell you at the stealership that it must be done at the dealer but you can likely program these yourself.

To program my new car's, all I needed to do was go through the vehicle information checklist and then follow all the prompts. This is on an 08, no dealer needed and I now have 3 sets of keys and fobs, it came with two.
-----------
This is from another poster on another board but the first set of steps is like what comes with the fob:
Transmitter Programming

Important
All transmitters which are to be recognized by the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) must be programmed in a single programming sequence. If the system is placed in program mode it will erase all previously programmed transmitters upon the receipt of the programming signal from the first transmitter. Up to four transmitters can be programmed. Do not operate or program the transmitters in the vicinity of other vehicles that are in the keyless entry program mode. This prevents the programming of the transmitters to the incorrect vehicle.

You may program up to 4 transmitters, using either of the two following procedures:

Transmitter Programming Procedure (Method 1 - No Tools Required)
Close all the vehicle doors.
Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder.
Press and hold the door unlock switch.
While holding the door lock switch in the unlock position, cycle the ignition ON, OFF, ON, OFF.
Release the door unlock switch. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm the program mode.
Press and hold the LOCK button and the UNLOCK button simultaneously on one transmitter. After a delay of approximately 15 seconds, the doors will lock and unlock to confirm the programming of that transmitter.
Repeat the previous step to program up to four transmitters.
Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position in order to exit the keyless entry transmitter mode.
Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation.
Transmitter Programming Procedure (Method 2 - Scan Tool Required)
Install a scan tool.
Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
Use the scan tool in order to access the Body Control Module (BCM) Special Function: Program Key Fobs menu.
Follow the directions on the scan tool in order to program the transmitters.
Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation.

FYI the 1st method above doesn't work for my 2000 LS1 so i would imagine the result would be the same for all L-series of the same vintage
