In 1996, my ex and I bought a new SL-1 and loved it. After too much time under the hood (bonnet), I had to let go of my beloved 1971 Land Rover and find a new utility. I test drove EVERYTHING that met my parameters, mid-size, automatic (Atlanta Traffic), and V-6 engine - not to mention a good size cargo load.
The Vue fit the bill perfectly. We bought it, named it Kirafu, Swahili for Rhinocerous and drove the hell out of it. It got Stage 4C BCU disease at 200,000 miles, so I got a used 2007 with 186,000 miles (best engine year). Now with just over 203,000, and a beautifully running engine, I'm having minor chassis electrical - none seem to be BCU related - and you know what? I couldn't be happier with a car.
Nice to still be on the road in a Saturn after 17 years!
