I'm going in for an oil change on our VUE Wednesday. It would be nice if the 08 VUE was there. I want to see and drive one before I pass judgement on it.

I feel very confident they are going to sell the heck out of the 08 due to improvements in interior and exterior.
I pre-ordered an 08 but ended up canceling the order last week.
We were beginning to have very loud wind noise around the front windshield area 0f our 07 VUE.
Several trips back to the dealer and they finally explained that is the nature of the poly.
We owed 8K on the car just so happened dropped by our local Toyota dealer he gave me an trade in offer I could not refuse as well as $500.00 below invoice on a 07 blizzard pearl Rav4 Limited V6 loaded to the gills including JBL, upgraded leather, sunroof and way too much to list here.
We now have a mixed family one 07 Ion-2 one 07 Redline and the 07 Toyota.
I must say I thought the Honda V6 was quick which it was but the V6 Toyota is wickedly fast sweet mother of acceleration pin me back to the seat type of acceleration, It is scary. Our 17 year old cannot drive this car unsupervised, I used to be a teenager and know what is going thru his head.:dizzy:
My 21 year old who has the redline with stage II kit was grinning ear to ear when he finished driving the SUV.

Things I wish the Rav4 had that the 07 VUE had.
Volume Mute on the wheel.
Auto Door lock
OnStar - My wife’s car she loved onstar, The JBL has bluetooth technology so paired her phone with the system which made her happy in this respect.
Auto Headlights.
Spare tire on the tailgate...???I guess I can get used to this.

Rav4 Highlights..
Acceleration.Unbeliveable for a V6 273HP after SAE ratings not before.
Very quiet ride
Interior and seats a major Upgrade
Cargo Storage space
Priced right with the 08 VUE I ordered
Really like the styling
NO more rattles anywhere.
Moon Roof tilt/open
Enhanced security system details attemps made to steal the car kept in memory for recall if necessary.

In all Honesty I believe Saturn is going to have a winner with the 08 VUE time will tell.
Not a Fanboy just what is right for me thats all.

I won't be rushing out to see it, and I don't feel most of America will either... I respect your enthusiasm, but I feel there's no compelling reason to go out of your way for this vehicle.

My prediction is that it will sell less than the Aura has. I hope I'm wrong...

Sadly, I think you may be right. Though the '08 has many improvements, I feel the styling won't be very well received as well as the higher price. The '08 has plenty of features that were not available on the '07 or were optional but I think overall it does not raise the bar in the small SUV market. The fact of the matter is the buying public wants those features but does not expect to pay a premium for them. Add in vehicles like the Mitsubishi Outlander or the Ford Escape/Mazda Tribute that are new this MY and are priced lower, it will be an uphill battle. I will make my final decision after I see it and take it for a spin. Like you said Bobby, I hope I am wrong.
