Wait a few months.

yeah what he said!

Sept-Oct should be a decent time to get one, might even be a rebate on them by then, like the Aura had a few months after its release....

Wait a few months.

Wait a year... Look at the Pontiac Torrent. They're coming out with a sport model with the 3.6L V6.

I think the last I heard was that the 2008 Vue Red Line will be available in early fall.

Welcome aboard!

According to my options memo, the Red Line begins building in June.

Anyone know if the ignition lights up? :|

Every car I've owned has had this as a standard feature.

The ignition light stays on 1-2 minutes after the dome lite goes on in my car. I really like that at night time... :p

Wait 1 year... There's too many problems with a new car in its first year of production.

As a 2000 LW2 owner, I'd have to recommend waiting on getting ANY first year model. Either that or getting an extended warranty if you do so. There will always be those who need the latest model right now, but personally, I can wait.

We have a first year Equinox - zero issues. You people always assume the worst.

I'm with you on that. I have purchased a few first year vehicles and not had any problems at all.

When people say they want to wait a year for them to 'get the bugs out', I don't think they understand how much these cars are tested. I dont' have a link but I KNOW I have read 2 or 3 articles on this topic in the last couple years...all saying the same thing....that studies have SHOWN that first year redesigns have very little to no more chance of problems than the second year and beyone. One article mentioned if it is brand new car (not a redesign, but a car with a brand new engine, transmission, and no comparable car anywhere in the manufacturers family) then there is more of an occurance (first year Mini Cooper was mentioned)...but as far as major redesigns where many of the same components are already used in other vehicles...it just doesn't apply.

This comment is not directed at anyone here, but, in general, when I hears someone say they are going to wait for the first year bugs to go away, I get the impression that is someone who might be jealous of someone getting the flashy, new, redesigned vehicle and needs to say something to make themself feel better.

In my case, if I had waited for a 2nd year model, I could have had side curtain airbags that weren't available on the first year LW2. Plus there were revisions such as non-welded door hinges and oil cooler seal. I say if you get a first year model and have no out of the ordinary problems whatsoever then you are lucky, but to each, his own. I'll be waiting for a year or so after the new Vue is out.

My only NEW car purchase was a 2005 GTO. You might say that is a 1st year model as they changed the drivetrain from 2004. However, 2004 and 2006 models are much more problematic.
Improvements from 1 year to the next are not always to fix "bugs". Don't forget, CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT is a Saturn tenant. If your glass is half empty, you might say that the best time to buy a "new" Saturn is the LAST year of production. Do you want the worst of the new or the best of the old?
Perhaps a lease would be best...
