My first question. I recently lowered my 01 SC1, I installed Arospeed Coilovers and lowered it about 2 inches. I feel a slight axle vibration (I believe). I was told that I should put it back to stock height and take a measurement across the CV joints and then lower it to my specs and then take another measurement. After getting the two figures take it to a shop and have them lengthen the axle accordingly. Any thoughts or info would be helpful.

Yeah, unfortunatly they all do that. If you figure out a fix, let us know.

"that's perfectly normal on a lowered saturn and does no permanent damage to the vehicle" quoted from many saturn techs, shops and owners.

The web page at SPS basically states that CV joints are designed to flex through a full range of suspension motion angles. Therefore, CV joints have some "slop" designed into them flex without binding. When you have the axle almost parallel to the ground (and the suspension isn't flexing as much) this "slop" makes itself known by causing a slight vibration at slow speeds. My SL2 isn't lowered so I have no idea what this vibration feels like.

Basically, it's nothing to worry about.

I lowered my SL1 2 inches and initially it vibrated a little, but then it kind of smoothed out after about a week. There was a little vibration after this period, but almost unoticable.

This is simply a small trade-off, so enjoy your lowered car and don't waste too much money fussing with the vibration.

Your cv joints will wear out more quickly. But... if you drive a lowered car... you are prolly doing some hard running any way so you know you gotta pay to play.

Axle's from saturn are 600 bucks a pop, plus installation.

It's no biggy... don't worry 'bout it.
