i took my vue for it`s 3000 mile service plus to take of some warranty items.the one that i find most troublesome is the noise when i cange gears . i was told that clunk was normal for manual transmissions thats when i ask to drive a new one on the lot to see if the nosie would exist . low and behold no noise the tech just told me to drive till it got worse and bring it in. in other words he did`nt have a clue to what is was. anyone out there with the same problem??

I purchased an '85 Ford F-250 brand new in '85. I had the truck preped and took care of the paper work and such, and upon leaving the dealership I felt a little shimmy when I applied the brakes. I backed the vehicle up and went inside to tell them something didn't feel right with the brakes. They told me it was "normal" and that it would take time to 'break-in.'. It never did. Ford replace the entire braking system, I mean everything even slightly related to brakes. The truck was in the shop a total of over 30 days and 14 separate visits for the same complaint. I even had Ford Reps. from Dearborn MI come down and dirve the veicle. It happen to be raining that day and four of us across the front bench seat almost took out a row of parked cars on a sidestreet! The reps told the dealership to fix it. They replaced everything a second time! No improvement. I wanted a new truck. No go. The dealer was so politically connected that I could not get the Lemon Law to replace the vehicle the legal statutes. At 40K I took a severe loss on the vehicle and sold it to a bone yard. I didn't want anyone else to have this pos. Don't make the same mistake as I did. Contact someone who has the authority to replace your vehicle (or the tranny, which I personally wouldn't do) with a new one.

Your A/C evaporator is leaking condensation into the interior- a common problem. And hmm, I have not heard of the shifting noise yet... mine thunps at 5K RPM and higher upshifts sometimes though.

I had the same clunking noise when shifting my new VUE. Took it to the dealer and it was fixed in minutes. According to the tech, the axle nuts were not torqued to spec. Problem solved.

Mine is clunking a lot now, and I have driven many customer 5 speed VUEs and ALL of them clunk.

Just got my gold Vue with the FWD/M-5 combination and power package/sunroof 9 days ago. Starting Sunday, I've had an intermittent problem on startup that sounds like gears grinding in the transaxle when the clutch is fully depressed. It makes this sound at every gear change, but only when the pedal is pushed clear to the floor; then, when I turn off the engine and restart, the problem is gone. This happened twice Sunday and Monday, once yesterday; the episode yesterday was followed on the restart by failure of the radio and turn signals to function, which corrected itself after another restart. I can't find any pattern or combination of things to stimulate this behavior. Does this sound like what you've been experiencing? I just turned 501 miles today and absolutely love it except for the ghosts in the machine. Am taking it to service today- any good questions I should ask?
Thanks, all.
