This is all pre-production and things may change.... but this is the info we were given today.... yes I know there is nothing listed for a manual transmission.... AT THIS TIME THERE ARE NO PLANS FOR A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. For the fans of Electronic Power Steering.... the 4CYL XE and the GL will have Column EPS... wow... that was a long post... if you have any questions I will be glad to answer them as best as possible.... again some of the info is still PRE-PRODUCTION... things MAY change... but this is the info I have as of today.... BTW the VUE drives great.... looks better in person than in the pics... I posted a couple of pics in the member galleries section....

Saturnsales,

Thanks for the info. I believe you incorrectly had the redline Vue listed with the 3.5 OHV V6 instead of the 3.6 DOHC V6.

EEK... you're right! my bad.... after a LONG day I knew I'd make a mistake somewhere.... yes it is the 250hp 3.6L engine in the RED Line.... again no HP increase on the RED Line version :(

Will the '08 Vue GL or a later MY have the 6-speed auto? It makes more sense not just from a drivability standpoint, but to increase MPG over the 4-speed unit.

You would think the 6 speed would have made it into the Greenlines, strictly just for an increase in mpg (approximately 4% better fuel economy with a 6 versus a 4). The 08 Malibu equipped with the 2.4 I4 will have an option of going from a 4 speed auto to a 6 speed automatic, so I don't know what the issue is (I know GM is trying to get 6 speeds into their vehicles as quickly as possible, but I would have thought the Greenlines would have been among the first to receive them).

Also, as you pointed out, the 6 speed will allow more engine flexibility. That alone will allow for better engine performance.

I'm thinking weight may be the issue for the 4 vs. the 6 speed (?).....

Glad to see the GL will live on, I test drove a Prius today and found it small. I like how I can stretch out in my Vue....I hope the next gen. will be as spacious.

if it is like the current GL where the only difference will be the badges and IC, then you'll have no problem streching out... I don't think it will be a weight issue though.... maybe a gearing issue? I really don't know... I'm just a sales guy...
