Apply Brake, engine stalls? [Archive]

Anyone have an idea about the following? 2004 3.5L AWD with 60,000 miles-when I apply brake or shift into reverse, engine stalls. In forward gears everything is O.K. until I apply the brake. A clue I am sure, is that backup lights stay on in all gears!

Get your battery checked out. Take it to an autopart store and have them load test it. You may also want to check your alternator.

Check the wiring around the trans selector switch to see if it has rubbed through any where. you certainly should not have the reverse lights on in any gear but R. This MAY be causing your stall or at least leading to it.
