I have heard that the EcoTec in the J bodies and LS cars is different than the EcoTec used in the VUE. I have read that the VUE one is tuned for more torque lower. Is this correct? What about the FDR on the VUE.... does anyone know what it is...I can't find the specs anywhere... it seems to be geared low as it can get offline with a lot of gusto, but needs to be shifted to 2nd gear very soon. Does anyone know of anywhere I can find technical info on the EcoTec, or a service/repair manual for the VUE? I am one of thsoe types that actually reads the service manual for their car.... when it comes to driving, I have the need to know just about everything about the vehicle that I can find out.
Thanks a million!

1) For specs, try gmpowertrain.com.

2) For service literature, get it right from Saturn per the coupon in your owner's manual. If anything like the S manuals, it's the best there is.

http://www.ecotecperformance.com/specs.html

The ECOTEC in the Cavalier and the VUE are exactly the same 10:1 C/R engine with different fuel and ignition maps for each application.

The VUE details are all listed on both the Saturn and GM powertrain site.

Hopefully by the time you see this post, but it all depends on how late I stay up tonight. I'll at least get some of the content that is performance related online tonight and the rest of the stuff saturday.
